Summary: The Ultimate Thriller about Twins
Review: "Charades For Experts" is a great mindbending thriller about twins, family deceptions, and the very nature of identity itself. It reminded me of the great Bette Davis thriller of the 1940s "A Stolen Life," wherein one twin masquerades as another with deadly consequences. If you like literate thrillers with plenty of surprises, "Charades" is for you.

Summary: Applause for "Charades for Experts"!
Review: This book is absolutely fabulous. It kept me not only incredibly interested in the final outcome, but completely entertained during the journey. These two factors have become my benchmark for all entertainment novels and this is the first this year to meet both criteria. Major kudos to Ms. Cartwright. Look forward to hearing more from her in the future!

Summary: a female Cornell Woolrich
Review: With its blend of identity theft and blackmail this book reminded me a lot of Cornell Woolrich's "I Married a Dead Man," with perhaps a little bit of Josephine Hart's "Sin" thrown in for good measure. Except that Cartwright writes better than either Woolrich or Hart. A great novel. Perhaps the most underrated mystery novel of the year 2000.
