Review: Bravo, Bravo, Bravo! That is what I say about Leaves of Red and Gold! It is an exciting fiction that had me up late at night reading! The characters are extremely well drawn and the settings between Boston and the western part of Massachusetts adds greatly to the novel. I agree with the many reviews here at AMAZON that this is a novel too good to be missed! It does present a strong gay character in a exciting life. I like the fact that he is not "pure", he has his faults, but yet you grow to love him and then the end of the book sends your head spinning! I chose this book for my book club and our readers agree, this is quality stuff! I also agree with the AMAZON reviewers that this novel would make an excellent movie! It is dramatic and has enough twists and turns that would keep the viewer completely entertained! As I was reading Leaves of Red and Gold, I could envision certain people starring in the many wonderful characters this book developed. Do yourself a favor, order Leaves of Red and Gold, go hideaway by the pool with a nice drink and sit and read and read and read! You will want more when you close the back cover!

Review: HURRAH! This is what I say to "Leaves of Red and Gold" HURRAH to this delicious and delectable novel about a strong gay character that could serve as a role model to all! It is fabulous to see a novel that tells a heartwarming story full of characters that could be a part of our own lives. It is also wonderful to see a "gay book" that is not about sex! The story of the life of Matthew Schipani is absorbing and stirring; laced with a great deal of passion for his loves and his career. I was stimulated, aroused, and drawn into this novel by its well developed plot line, with crescendos of suspense beating in the background! This is one of the best "gay" novels I have read in a decade!

Review: I agree with everyone who reviewed this novel, Leaves of Red and Gold, except the last reader. The protagonist is not gay, he is a scary dude: (...)! The main character is gay, and a great gay guy at that! The story is very exciting, not amatuerish at all...it is a NEW story, with a great ending! Leaves of Red and Gold is definitely worth your time and money!

Review: I found myself hooked on Leaves of Red and Gold right from the first chapter! The book develops the main character so that you not only feel his pain, but you root for him when he triumphs! His scary tormenter freaked me out, but made me want to read more! The book also showed a deep love affair between Matthew and Adam, and how even with troubles they continued to love each other, good times and bad times! I liked how the book showed not only his legal career, but also how important his friends, both straight and gay, were to him. I would recommend that you get this book...it is an exciting gay story and you will enjoy it and want to tell your friends about it!!!

Summary: THE New Gay Thriller!
Review: I was excited to receive a copy of Leaves of Red and Gold for my birthday last month! My best friend that bought it for me said to make sure that I set aside time to read it because once I started I would not want to stop. He was oh so right! As an attorney I can say that the courtroom scenes are extremely well done, but this is not just the story of a courtroom lawyer who becomes a big politician in Massachusetts. This is a definite spine tingler! The reviewers here at Amazon have it right: this is a 5 star novel that should hit the big screen! I appreciated the author's well written development of characters that are three dimensional and non-predictable. Even the main character Matthew has you mad at him some times to the point you yell out loud "what is wrong with you man!" I also appreciated that this novel while it is about a gay leading character is not filled with gratiutous sex. Oh there are surely some hot steamy sex scenes in the novel, but the sex is there for a purpose, not just to sell the book off the shelves. This is not a novel built around sex, no it is built about strong character development and an interesting storyline. What makes this novel so special is that it tells a story of love and fear, of winning and losing, and of fine friends who come together to help and hold each other in times of need. It also deals with some incredibly gripping topics besides the law: social work, child abuse, priests on the run, AIDS, and the politics of Massachusetts. As with all really good novels the end of the novel comes as a surprise and one that will have you talking! If you are going to buy one book for your summer reading, I would suggest that you pick up Leaves of Red and Gold right here at Amazon.com. And call your local dealer and tell her to start stocking it too!
