Summary: Probably his worst published novel.
Review: Very disappointing; this was written right after World War II, and it tells an improbable story of Nazis infiltrating a Midwestern university, filled with cliches and inaccurate stereotypes (e.g. the Nazis are all homosexuals). It's also lacking MacDonald's usual deft characterization and meticulous plotting. Recommended only for his most obsessive fans. [Not a Lew Archer novel.
