Summary: Sidney Davis hits Homerun
Review: As a retired airline Captain I usually approach aviation fiction with skeptiscism, but I was convinced Davis had hit a home run halfway through Chapter One. His flying scenes are the best I've read in a long time. His characters are well developed, a rarity in current fiction. The heroes have warts, too. The plot is simply terrific and I hope Davis is writing another book on aviation. I second the motion of the first reviewer that the book be made into a movie.

Summary: A Must Read Thriller
Review: One of the best novels I have read in a long time. It is a fast paced thriller that is hard to put down. The suspense, the plot, the charcters, and the historical background are well developed. As a World War II veteran I appreciated the author's realistic descriptions of the mood and sentiments of the 1940 era. It certainly would be terrific movie material and I highly recommend this book.

Summary: A Masterpiece in Suspense
Review: This book starts with the beginning of World War II. It gives you the same feeling as when you read Winds of War. It is excitement from the start. The detailed descriptions of Lisbon, of the inner workings of the Lisbon police department and of the flying clipper are exquisite. This book takes you from each suspenseful moment to the completely unexpected. For a pilot, the flight scenes bring back fond memories. The Author obviously has researched his subject in great detail. As I approached the end of the book, I simply couldn't put it down. I knew how I wanted it to end, but I had no idea how Sid Davis would take us there. Definitely, a book for Hollywood!
