Summary: I've found a series I like!
Review: After reading this, my first of the Kat Kolorado series, I have found a series of titles that I would love to read my way through. A few slow spots, but I loved the characters and look forward to seeing them again in later novels. Kat, the detective, is interesting and entertaining. A good read.

Summary: Kat Can do
Review: In KataPult Kat if you you didn't Know already is an hard edged Female PI from Sacrameto with a troubled past. Surrounded with a quirky cast of Charcters. Alma the Eccentric Adoptive Grandmother, Rafe her Male friend and Charity her best friend and advice coulmnist who needs to follow her own advice, and Hank the Love Interest picked up from Vegas in the Last Book. In this outing Alma her Grandmother asks her to look in on the death of her Cousin(another Stray alma has picked up) Johnny who was killed under mysterious circumstances. as a B story that flows into the A we meet Lindy a young teenage Prostitute who past almost matches Kat's who wants Kat to look into the death of her friend and fellow prostitute. Kat follows the usual mystery cliche... Kat get involved, gets hurt, solves crime picks up a stray (Guess who?) the story moves back in forth between Lindy's problem and johnny's death until she gets a resolution for both in a nice neat package a little to perfectly as you can see what's coming next....(this get better in later books)

Summary: Call it "Sara Paretsky, lite"
Review: Overall, this is not an okay book. It pulls you in enough tht you want to keep reading, but I was distracted by the seeming copycat nature of the book. A single, female detective with a nozy older neighbor who calls her dollface,a troubled family, an inherited dog, and a prickly impatience for those who care and worry about her...where have we seen this before? Kat Colorado could be V.I. Warshawski's twin. However, her character isn't as well developed as Warshawski. Not a bad read, but I'd stick to the original.

Summary: A slow start
Review: This is the second book in the series and it is a little slow. It keeps you pulled in and wanting more, though almost not enough. The character is still finding some background and who she is. A good read though the first one and the next one were more exciting.
