Review: *Dead in the Pumpkin Patch* is the eighth novel in the Amanda Hazard mystery series by Connie Feddersen. Amanda and her husband Nick Thorn, the town's police chief, are expecting their first baby in the midst of the Vamoose Halloween celebrations. While Thorn does his best to shelter Amanda from any stress in the final weeks of pregnancy, Amanda's desperate for some action. Unfortunately, the action finds her!

Arriving at Nettie's farm to pick up some pumpkins to decorate her accounting firm, Amanda discovers Nettie dead in the pumpkin patch. Nettie, an asthmatic and frail woman, apparently tripped and dislodged her oxygen mask. Amanda, after seven successful murder investigations, discovers key evidence that shows Nettie was murdered. Amanda is determined to solve the mystery before the baby shower that weekend.

With the help of Thorn and County Commissioner Sam Harjo, Amanda works the case. As usual, Amanda's adventures are hilarious and entertaining. I can't wait until the next Amanda Hazard installment!

I like her main characters, Amanda and Nick. They are a great couple. I always enjoy a cozy with amateur sleuths. Nick is a police chief and she is a CPA. She ends up helping him solve a local murder around Halloween. The characters are fun and the story moved quickly. I will be reading all her books as soon as I can!
