Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Good plot idea Review: Carol (no relation) Higgins Clark is no match for her mother. This was a good idea for a plot, but very badly written. Characters are shallow and dialogue totally predictable. Everything falls conveniently into place with no subtlety whatsoever.

She's penned another Regan Reilly mystery that had me up until my eyes began watering because I was so tired. But "Fleeced" seemed to be Krazy Glue'd to my hands. I read this in two settings. I must once again compare Carol with Agatha Christie, for the sole purpose of informing readers just how tight and crisp Clark's plots are. She sets you up, as always, with Regan Reilly being with her mother and father, or her boyfriend, Jack "No-Relation" Reilly. They might be going to an event together, they might be on vacation, or whatnot. But murder and danger seem to follow poor Regan wherever she goes. And Agatha Christie is so much the same way. Hercule and Miss Marple always seemed to be pleasant enough in the beginning of a new book or story, that is until a corpse fell into their respective laps. I just love Carol Higgins Clark's Regan Reilly series! She makes those convoluted, difficult plots seem so easy to create!

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Laughable Review: Carol Higgins Clark thrives off her famous mother's name. She completely expolits the well-known "Higgins Clark" to sell her books, which are to say the least, trash.Fleeced was a waste of time.. and it was a VERY quick read. The dialogue is dumb and predictable, the characters under-developed and shallow, and the plot is almost non-existent. This book lacked any suspense and was very, VERY slow. One particularly laughable part was when they discovered who the killer was. "Oh my god!" cried Regan. "Oh sweet Jesus!" yelled Clara. Dear Lord, what a ridiculous piece of trash this book was. Please, Carol. Go back to your acting.. unless you're as good an acress as you are a writer. You will never reach your mother's caliber in writing.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Slow and Boring Review: Fleeced was a waste of my money. It was very slow, uneventful, and dull. The characters had nothing to say. In her other Reagan Reilly mysteries, Ms. Clark writes the characters very vibrantly. They are full of jokes and life. She must have rushed through it or something. If you want to read a real mystery, read "Daddy's Little Girl" by her mother, Mary Higgins Clark. I don't think that Ms. Clark the younger will ever reach her mother's caliber.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Not as good as her other books Review: I laughed throughout this story but not because the plot was ingenious or the characters had any depth. I laughed because I couldn't figure out how it ever got published in the first place. And like most people who are intrigued by a good train wreck, I kept reading to see how bad it would get. The book didn't disappoint! I was utterly shocked to see all the strong reviews. All I could imagine was that Carol had some of her friends write in to boast about the book. My recommendation is that Carol should return to acting. It couldn't be as bad as her attempt at book writing.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An excellent mystery Review: Los Angeles private investigator Regan Reilly is in New York City for several reasons. She's going to visit her parents and also attend the crime convention her mother has put together. She looks forward to seeing her significant other Jack Reilly, the head of the Big Apple's Major Case Squad. Unfortunately Megan has little time to visit with anyone because her friend Thomas Pilsner needs her in her official capacity. Thomas is president of the Setler's Club, a place where people who are free thinkers congregate, exchange new ideas and have fun. The club is in decline but two of its' members, Nat and Dan are planning to contribute four diamonds worth four million dollars to revitalize the club. Both die before they can give their gift. Thomas wants Megan to find the missing donation before the Setler's Club becomes history. Other people are searching for the diamonds including two very dangerous grifters who will use any means at their disposal to get what they want. The fifth installment in the Megan Reilly mystery series is a humorous private detective novel starring a heroine who keeps the audience hopping with her many exploits. The support cast is filled with quirky eccentric characters that add a vein of humor to the story line. Carol Higgins Clark, like her mother Mary Higgins Clark, is a dynamite storyteller who excels at her craft. Harriet Klausner
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: A Good &Pleasant Read Review: This is my first official Carol Higgins Clark that I have read. While I was disappointed in the past with her collaborations with her mother. I really like Fleeced I couldn't put it down storyline was nice. She will never be on the same caliber as her mother. But she has her own style. Which is great.
