Summary: Surpasses the Hype
Review: Okay, I don't do Christian writers, sorry, I just have never gotten past the assumption that it is somehow less. But I'd heard a lot about this book and when a good friend of mine at FOX studios suggested I read it, I buckled and bought it.

This book is written phenomonally well. Another review here suggested the writing was juvenile and mentionted Dostoyevsky as a prefered style in fiction. If you're one of the few literary types who limits thier enjoyment to such authors and shuns the likes of King, Koontz, Grisham, and Patterson, then steer clear of Dekker as well. He writes for the common culture like Shakespear did in his day. Not for narrow minded elitists.

But if you like any of these other authors, be like me, take the plunge, you'll find a story here that will suprise and delight you. What suprised me most was the depth of the questions about human nature behind the plot. I'll definately be reading more of Dekker. And FOX is right, this will definately make an incredible movie.

Summary: needs more than 5 stars
Review: Ted Dekker has the ability to take Christians out of their comfort zone. Is that a bad thing? No. As a Christian, God calls people to do so with talents such as writing Christian fiction. I read this book pretty quickly. You don't read a Ted Dekker book and say it's boring. If you do, you are a very tough customer and cannot be pleased. I can go as far as to say that this book will even play with your mind a little bit. Maybe even more. I have everything Ted Dekker owns. When an author such as Frank Peretti can make a recommendation on certain books, you know it's a good book. You don't even ask questions. If you are looking for a milk and cookies book, then don't read this. If you are looking for a read that will challenge you, make you nervous and make you think, then read this book. Ted Dekker gets his work from The Lord, and it shows in everything he does. Any more questions, just buy one of his books. Start with THR3E.

Summary: Powerful and Gripping
Review: This is a powerful and gripping psychological thriller paced faster than a John Grisham novel and with the theological punch of C. S. Lewis. Few books are more suspenseful than this page-turner. Every time you think you've got it figured out, you are sent into a tail-spin . . . right up to the last few pages. Excellent!

Summary: A thriller with a twist...
Review: This was my first read of Ted Dekker's books. I enjoy action and thriller stories. I appreciate books with a Christian world view. This book has it all. It was very engaging and the plot continued to twist right up until the end. I now look forward to exploring some of his other books!
