Summary: True crime drama at its best.....
Review: An abosolute must read for anyone who's into true crime drama. Jones' chilling account of this crime simply grabs hold of you and does not let go. Well written, well researched. When you finish reading the book, you feel you've gotten the entire story. With lots of other books, there are always so many unanswered questions. Not this one! Any man who is contemplating marriage to a woman he hardly knows should definately read this book and make certain she has none of Della's traits, except maybe her good looks. Buy it, read it, and enjoy, You won't be sorry.

Summary: Ugh
Review: As a true crime aficionado, I thought this was a horrible book. If there were negative stars, I would have given it. Poorly written, rotten grammar, no suspense. Ms. Jones was obviously convinced of Della's guilt immediately and does not bother to make a case for any other scenario. Don't waste your time or money.

Summary: Della proves "bad seed" theory is a legitimate one
Review: I believe that there IS such a thing as a "bad seed", someone who is BORN evil and the best parents, schools, environment in the world will not change them.

Della Faye (Dante) Sutorious is living proof! She is a textbook psychopath and Aphrodite Jones has done her usual great job in taking us through her warped life.

Summary: Black Widow....
Review: I love true crime non-fiction! Grabbed this book in a hurry while on jury duty for a murder case no less. Absolutely loved this page turner. Della (Dante) made me cringe as I read each chapter of her man-filled life. A woman who in my mind, definately had some mental problems. Aphrodite Jones details how 'Dante' used each man in her life for her own advantage then turned on them one by one. If you life true-crime stories, this book is for you.

Summary: Della`s Web: Brilliantly written, truly compelling.
Review: I recently had the pleasure of meeting Aphrodite Jones, she handed me a copy of this book to keep and read. I don`t usually choose this type of book for myself but found this book so gripping a story I could not put it down. This book is for you if even if your not a true-crime story lover! I am of the opinion that Ms. Jones is a brilliant true-crime researcher and author. I shall look forward to reading more of her work with great anticipation!

Summary: Much better story than Dateline did....
Review: If you watched the NBC 1-hour long special on this story, you know that, if you had read this book, that Aphrodite Jones did a better job at unfolding the true story of Della Dante Sutorius.

Summary: Black Widow
Review: Ok this story was on court tv's forensic files and HER OWN MOTHER calls her a black widow spider because she marries a sucessful man and kills him for money she is very greedy and she would have never been found out if bodies didnt tell secrets csi is a very important thing too no way would blood have spatterd on the bottom of the couch with a shooting to the head it was a very important thing to her undoing

Summary: Gripping, well-told story - a must read!
Review: Reminiscent of the reporting style of Edna Buchanan, Ms. Jones takes a story right out of our local headlines and gives a detailed, insightful look at the "why" and "how" of the story: why was the Doctor killed and how could one person, Della Sutorious, be so evil? For an in-depth look at the life of a killer, please read this book. Highly recommended!

Summary: Bad Aphrodite
Review: This book is not good. I've read about Della Sutorious in the news and saw her story on the Discovery Channel so I knew this is a fascinating case but Aphrodite Jones buries under minutiae. There is no way she can know what was said word for word in private conversations so why give the reader pages of it? It seemed like book padding to me.

Della/Dante is a twisted monster but Ms. Jones actually managed to make me feel almost sympathetic towards her, which I'm sure was not her intention. The neighbors, in their recollections of Della all seem envious and nosey. The Sutorious children, especially the eldest child are portrayed as whiny, selfish brats and the victim is shown in the most unkind light possible. I think the author became so caught up in her fascination with the killer she forgot to portray the crime and how it was it was exposed by forensic science. This book was a terrible let down.

Summary: Suckers For Dante
Review: This book was fascinating, but it could have been better. For instance, if there was some sort of timeline that showed what Della/Dante was doing when, in her career of marrying up and up and in between marriages. How and where did she live? Pay rent? It's just amazing that she continued to get away with her behavior toward the men she dated and married, as well as her own family. I just feel as though a lot was left out, and the book could have been better researched and more tightly written. But overall, an entertaining true crime book.
