Summary: this book was a treat !!!!!
Review: Being a resident of Chambersburg, PA, I was very interested to read a no vel by a local author, and I immediately became hooked by the remarkable resembla nce the town of Lickin Creek had to Chambersburg. Many of the places and people mentioned gave me the real feeling of experiencing a wonderful murder mystery set in my home town. For those who love local history mixed with good suspense and rich, quirky characters, I strongly recommend this book. But to be fair and a li ttle critical, I must say that a few of the situations seemed a bit contrived and hard to believe. Still, overall, a fun, fast read!

Summary: A Winner!
Review: Death Pays the Rose Rent is one fantastic mystery! From the very first page I enjoyed Tori Miracle's transition from a struggling author to a successful detective. In this latter role I wanted to help her solve each crime. Tori's detective skills become apparent in the quaint little town of Lickin Creek where she delves into the distant past to uncover hidden clues that help her solve the crimes.

Some books have many boring pages, but not this one. Every page is alive and exciting. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Great fun!
Review: I like Tori Miracle. She's adventurous, spirited, likeable. Of course, she also has her crabby side, and a past that occasionally prevents her from moving forward. In short--a fully fleshed out character, and someone you might even like to have as a friend. Tori's adventures in DEATH PAYS THE ROSE RENT take her from Hell's Kitchen, NY, to Lickin Creek, PA; from present day, to spooky legends of the past; from the physical to the metaphical -- and it all flows quite seamlessly. I can't wait to share Tori's next adventure. -- Kris Neri, mystery writer.
