Rating: Summary: Oh Brother!!! Review: OK. I'm may be a bit biased - Eric Wilson is my brother! But come on - WOW! I usualy can't make it through a whole book unless it is amazingly captivating. "Dark to Mortal Eyes" was! I was pleasantly thrilled at the continuing stories that make their way out of the original (or what I thought was the original) plot. It's like there's a supernatural suspence, an anarchist ready to destroy the world terrorist thriller, a love story, a world war two drama, an "Alias" type government conspiracy action story and a how to book on building a better relationship with your spouse/children... ALL IN ONE! It is so cool how a book can be so spiritualy alive - serious spiritual/Biblical truths all through it - but never "preachy" or simplistic in it's direction spiritualy. Not only did I enjoy reading this, I also learned some strategy for my own life in regards to business sense and personal relationships. I gained a better understanding on how to have compassion for and truly show love to my wife... Eric - you did it! You alway were amazing, but this is absolute genius!
Rating: Summary: Deep, Spiritual, Twisted and Thrilling Ride! Review: Prepare to encounter a world that we all know exists but few of us are totally familiar with. The world of the supernatural. Or is it the natural? Dark to Mortal Eyes will keep you guessing and wondering what you really see.
In this book, Wilson deftly imprints both worlds into our minds and our hearts. It is a book on the sense of sight as Wilson will release a book for each sense in the upcoming years. He keeps you guessing and the suspense is real and believable.
The plot stories have been review by others, but the way it impacts your heart and mind is amazing. I would compare Wilson as a mix between Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti. Is he really like either of them? No, but the novel has elements of both styles in it.
Dark to Mortal Eyes is a novel I definitely recommend and look forward to the other novel upcoming soon, Expiration Date which will explore the sense of touch. The characters are real and developed nicely and one of the best parts I think is that the Christians in the book, who are few, appear and truly display love. Not preachy, not religious but truly loving yet also powerful in God. But the other characters also are shown as real, especially in the the life of Josee, one of the main characters as she is one who has been hurt by religion. Wilson can write from both sides and brings the both to life.
Dark to Mortal Eyes is a must read and I look forward to the upcoming next novel, Expiration Date, which will explore the sense of touch. Pick up your copy today!
