Rating: 3 stars
Summary: An Absorbing Read
Review: Breach of Promise was a nice read. Well written, a clever puzzle, likeable characters. The policemen are good, moral people who work hard to investigate crime. The criminals are suitably greedy, nasty and small minded. The only reason this book didn't get more stars from me is that I found the identity/explaination of the killer hard to believe.
This is kind of giving away the end, so if you are planning on reading this, don't read any further.

OK. The one thing I found really hard to swallow is that the killer is supposed to be John Kingsley, the handicapped man. Only, he isn't really handicapped, he's just been pretending to be that way for the past 30 years. Um, OK. Why? Because he is a selfish, demanding person who likes being waited on. Oh, OK. Umm, no. Don't accept it.
