Summary: Great read!
Review: I read this book from cover to cover in no time flat! I grew up in the neighborhood described in the book...and although it's listed as "fiction" & SOME of the names have been changed... this story line is VERY familliar.

The old neighborhood is buzzing about this book, & also buzzing about who is ACUTALLY who....and now I know why. Great read, Great Book!

Review: Jason Poole did a great job with this novel...the editing could have been better, but being a native Washingtonian I loved finally being able to experience reading the urban drama from someone with DC's perspective. Real hustlers from DC will ALWAYS be recognized by the their signature...FINESSE! You have to be from here to understand what I'm saying! LARCENY is what brings all GOOD plans/intentions/people to an end in the life of hustling. I read this book in two days!!! J Rock, I know you got another couple of books up in you! FEED ME!

Review: Larceny by Jason Poole is one of the best books I have read this year!!! It is a page-turner from beginning to end!! It is a story of love, loyalty, and betrayal. Jovan and Bilal are childhood friends who live by the code of the streets and they vow to be there for each other, no matter what. Until a day in the alley that changes their lives forever, Bilal takes the blame for Jovan and asks him to do one thing and one thing only: look after his little brother Mal-Mal. The little brother that he loves, adores, and has taken care of since day one. Jovan agrees but soon becomes slack and gets caught up in the game and tragedy strikes, Mal-Mal is killed in a fire. Jovan himself gets locked up and uses his time to educate himself...becoming a paralegal. When he gets out, he is determined to leave the game behind. He meets "Sonya", the woman he soon falls in love with, who has a past of her own. By chance, he meets up with Bilal and their friendship picks up where they left off, or so he thinks. Jovan feels responsible for Mal-Mal and does all he can to help Bilal; including kill. It seems like old times until Bilal asks Jovan the favor that sets off a chain of events that lead to betrayal and Jovan realizes he has been set up by the man he would do anything for, he learns that sometimes the choices you make in love and loyalty can ultimately destroy you.
