Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Killer is Watching Her Review: Judge Kemp has been discretely paying police officers to keep his daughter's indiscretions out of the press and they've done a marvelous job at it, kept her indiscretions from him as well. Underage Janey Kemp belongs to the Sex Club, an internet group that meets nightly for fun, games and sex. However not all the members are high school students, and one of the members had a childhood most of us would rather not know about.
Late Night DJ Paris Gibson gets a phone call from one of her listeners. Seems she'd advised his latest flame to breakup with him. To get even he has kidnapped the girl, is going to use and abuse her for three days and then he's going to kill her. He wants Paris to know, it's her punishment for meddling.
Paris goes to the cops under the watchful eyes of the caller, who just happens to be a serial killer in the making and it appears Paris is next on his list.
This book is a fun read and there is just enough romance in it between Paris and Criminal Psychologist Dean Malloy to keep Brown's romance fans happy, but not so much that it would turn off fans of a fast paced thriller. "Hello, Darkness" is a five star book that I heartily enjoyed.

She's given us a serial killer, shown us what he looks like, given us plenty of info about him, made plenty sure we know he's a bottom dweller into not quite right, kinky sex. But that's not what is so amazing about this novel. We meet this slug right from the get go, but we don't figure out who he is till the end of the book, so I guess you could say HELLO, DARKNESS is a mystery. But wait, it reads like a pulse-pounding, page-turning thriller. Stop! There might be a touch of romance in it as well.Nightshift DJ Paris Gibson gets a call from one of her listeners, a guy who calls himself Valentino, just before she goes off shift. He tells her he's kidnapped his girlfriend and he's going to kill her in three days. Paris has seventy-two hours to save the girl. Of course she goes straight to the cops, where she happens to run into Criminal Shrink Dean Malloy, a man from her past. Paris, Malloy and the police do their level best to track the kidnapper, but Ms. Brown has made it a bit difficult by giving them more than one suspect. Is it Malloy's sassy son, a back-talking, boozing brat who belongs to the same internet sex club as the missing girl? Is it the perverted porno perusing, pedophiliac who yearns to peak under his patient's skirts as he's drilling their teeth? Is it the cop assigned to computer fraud that's been secretly sampling the wares of the girls in the high school sex club? And can Paris and company catch the kidnapping killer before he gets Paris, because you know he's after her, else why did he bother to call in the first place. The beauty of this book is that I was convinced the bad guy was the dentist, then I shifted my attention to the kid, then the cop, then back to the dentist, and so on and so on. Ms. Brown gives us three suspects, makes them all look guilty, then guiltier. What a great book. Ken Douglas, Underpaid Writer
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: HELLO DARKNESS Review: Sandra Brown is one of my favorite suspense writers. I enjoyed some of her other works such as ' ENVY' and 'THE CRUSH' and 'HELLO DARKENESS' ranks right up there with some of my favorites. It is a race against time when radio personality Paris Gibbson receives a terrifying phone call from a regular listener who goes by the name of Valentino. Valentino claims that upon Paris' advise his girlfriend is going to break up with him, so he has kidnapped her and plans to kill her in 72 hours leaving the girls death on Paris' conscious. When Paris enlists the help of the Austin police force she meets up with detective Dean Malloy someone who she though she had left in the past when she left her home town of Huston after a tragic accident. As time winds down Paris and Malloy try desperately to find Valentino, while simultaneously trying to reconcile with their past, before he carries out his threat. This is a fast paced novel that truly kept me guessing until the very end.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Really 4 1/2 stars Review: This book gets 4 1/2 stars from me because I could not put it down. I had to know how it would end. There were so many twists and turns. I liked Dean and his son Gavin and it really delves into how people grow up and how things from their past can and do affect them. The reason I did not give this book 5 stars is because I thought the main character Paris could have been made more "real" to me. There was so much going on in the book that I think sandra Brown did not spend enough time developing that particular character. Otherwise, I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a suspenseful read especially if you have time to do it. This book is not one that you will put down!
