Summary: Good read
Review: A very captivating book with lots of detail... While I have to agree with some of the other reviews when saying that there are parts of the book when the plot is predictable and when there seems to be too much going on, overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Once into the story I was not able to put the book down until I knew where the twists and turns were taking the ending.

A shame that the book is classified in the Gay Fiction segment, as there is so much more to the book and the story, and this classification might keep some people from looking into the book.

Summary: OH PLEASE!
Review: Honey, this is by far one of the worst books I have ever read. I found myself laughing in parts that were intended to be serious, and I wasn't laughing because it was funny, oh no, it was just plain dumb. The clues are SO OBVIOUS that there really isn't a mystery! Boring!!!!! NEXT!

Summary: Great Read
Review: I took this book on vacation with me, and it was a great plane read. The characters were wonderful and well developed. The locales were very well descibed and true to life (at least those that I know). My only complaint was that the ending was really contrived. Everything just happened to fall into place perfectly. After the tone of reality that was present in the rest of the book, this was a let down. However, the last chapter was a really unexpected, interesting twist. The Tenth Man is not great literature, but it is definitely a worthwhile read.

Summary: Great Story
Review: The story is compelling. Beware: the death scenes were a little too gruesome -for my taste. The author's portrayal of the various Italian and Dutch characters is delightful. The main character's struggle kept my attention and the secondary characters were well developed - very real. The elaborate descriptions of the Italian countryside and the quaint city of Amsterdam reminded me of vacations spent Europe. I'd like to see this book turned into a movie.

Summary: Tenth Man Rates Ten Stars
Review: The Tenth Man is an amazing first novel. It has beautifully written descriptions of the people and places of Italy and The Netherlands along with a first-rate mystery. OK, you'll solve the mystery long before the final chapter, but the author must intend that because the clues are rampant. But that's allright; it doesn't detract from the story. The crime descriptions are on a par with those of Brett Easton Ellis and, therefore, not for the squeamish. These contrast starkly with the beauty that otherwise abounds. The gay theme is woven throughout but enlightened readers, straight or otherwise, will find this a compelling read. Little information is provided about the author, E. William Podojil, but let's hope that The Tenth Man is the first of much more to come.

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: This is one of the best books I have read this year. It was a great love story tied in with a major sicko serial killer. The book pushed a lot of buttons, social and otherwise, and I hope that there will be more coming from this author. I would highly recommend it.

Summary: Gripping, creepy and suspenseful
Review: This is the story of a man on the run. Jack Barillo finds that men from his past are getting killed one by one (warning to the squeamish: this ain't Agatha Christie's type of killings--these are startlingly detailed). The killer, Lucifer, seems to be the type who can't be escaped.

I was interested in the Chicago settings, since I'm from there, but the environment in Amsterdam and Italy are also very well-done. Jack thinks he can get away from Lucifer by hiding out in Europe, then finds out that even his best-laid plans are laid open for exploitation. I look forward to more thrillers from this author!

Summary: ZZZZZZZZZ
Review: Well, I wasn't going to waste my time even giving a review on this book but I really feel cheated. This book is on the dull side and really never delivers a satifying scene. The writing style is good but the way the author puts it all together is very bland and boring, it's a mystery novel with no thrills, and the clues are rather annoying and pointless not to mention over the top obvious. I would stay away from this book, there is some beautiful writing in sections of the novel but over all I felt as though the author dumbed down the over all plot, and that really makes me mad. Don't waste your money!

Summary: Blah!
Review: Yikes! This book suffers from what I will call too much of everything. I did not enjoy it at all, two thumbs way down!
