Rating: Summary: Big Fan Review: Although this book was in the Adult Section. I checked it out anyway. This book seemed to be a pornography book. When I read through, but in a way it wasn't. I believe the title was not well suited for the book. Lethal was okay by this book has nothing to do with seduction. This book was so mind-toppling with different personalities. Some characters were so put into life that it was quite funny. They seem to be the same person except for their issues and sexuality. Like Jamie's husband Peter which by surprise something happens that I won't mention. This book was not sought out as well. Their was to much profanity in there. The book seemed to surprise you, but in a way bore you because that word is found in their quite a few times. I would like to read another though!
Rating: Summary: semi-boring rip-off Review: First off, Jackie is my Favorite author, and I now have read ALL her books. This one started out exciting but after 60% was read, I put it down all the time. I hated Rosarita! it's one thing for a character to be young, naive and selfish, but add "stupid idiot" to that, and it insults my intelligence. The Madison story was good, but with her fathers mafia past, her murdered mother, and 1/2 brother, isn't this a carbon copy of Lucky & Gino santangelo? Which scares me into thinking, that Gino won't live through the next Santangelo novel. Please! Let him break records for old age, we love Lucky & Gino! In Lethal seduction, there are TOO many unanswered questions at the end of the book. Nothing more at ALL on Michaels past, 1/2 brother at the END of the book! What about when Rosarita "Swore" she saw a crowd of people watching her & Joel having sex? Well who WERE they? and WHY were we left hanging on EVERY storyline? For this price, part 2 should have been included. Jackie, in the next Madison book, do we get to at least see Rosarita DIE? (lol) Please bring back the Santangelos.(ps.I'm sorry but I had to be honest).
Rating: Summary: Only for fans Review: First off, let me say that I am biased. I'm a fervent Jackie Collins fan. I couldn't bring myself to give a Jackie Collins book less than three stars. However, if you're not already a fan of Ms. Collins then I suspect that you won't like this book much. It's certainly a quick read with lots of trashy sex among the stellar rich and famous that always inhabit her books. (Although the sex isn't nearly as tawdry and twisted as some of her novels.) The plot just doesn't quite pay off though. I was really into the first half of the story but then the ending felt rushed and I found it unsatisfying. I felt like Ms. Collins was racing to meet a contractual deadline or simply became bored with her own tale and kind of gave up. There's a lot of unfinished business in Lethal Seduction and, instead of making me hungry for more, it left me discontented. It's apparent there will be another installment in this new series and if the next book was already available for me to jump right into I might not feel so let down. Ms. Collins' books almost always have fast and fevered endings and I kept expecting everything to come together in the end. Instead of tying everything up neatly though still more unfinished plot twists arise. Even with the unsatisfactory ending I might have been able to forgive the lame conclusion if the characters were more interesting. Unfortunately almost everyone in the book is completely one-dimensional and predictable. If you're not already a Jackie Collins fan don't start with this book. The predecessor to Lethal Seduction, the L.A. Connections "mini-series", is by far superior! If you've never read a Jackie Collins book I always suggest first reading Hollywood Wives. Then if you like that book read Chances and Lucky back-to-back! If you are already a Jackie Collins fan you'll find just enough of the bitchy sleaze you've come to love from her stories to pull you through Lethal Seduction but I doubt if it'll turn out to be anyone's favorite book.
Rating: Summary: Jackie seems to be losing her touch Review: I HATED this book. I couldn't even get all the way through it. There was no plot at all, just sex. It wasn't even arousing sex; it was very boring. It is the worst book I have ever read, and I'd give it no stars if I could. I DO NOT recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Jackie Collins does it again!!! Thrilling page turner Review: I have just finished "Lethal Seduction" and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Jackie Collins remains one of my favourite writers and she did not disappoint. This book has definite potential for a sequel and I hope Jackie comes through (hint, hint). It would be interesting to follow Madison and Jake's romance. To explore Madison's dad Michael, her half brother Vincent and her maternal aunt in Miami would open up a good storyline and answer the questions left in the readers' minds at the end of "Lethal Seduction". Then there is Rosarita, whom I personally loved to hate. What happened to her, the career of Dexter and his relationship with Gem would make interesting reading. All in all, I would recommend this book as an extremely easy and entertaining quick read.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful people having lots of sex... Review: I like Jackie Collins books for a light read on the beach. Her older books, the Lucky series, Hollywood Wives, and Hollywood Husbands I particularly liked. This is trashy, averagely written "literature", so I take it for what it is.Although this book is fairly entertaining, it is inherently flawed. One thing Jackie Collins is good at is creating a variety of characters and bringing them all together in the end. She does that in all her books, and Lethal Seduction is no different. However, this book nowhere near measures up to her previous efforts. In fact, it almost feels like a duplicate of all her other books. I'm so tired of all the women being the most beautiful thing on the face of the Earth. Sure, they may be famous, but not all famous people are beautiful! Second, all of her characters speak the exact same way. Some of them may speak a bit more slangy, but the vulgarity abounds from every character. I can't imagine some of these characters saying the things she has them say. All everyone does is have sex, and lots of it. Come on, how about some depth! The Gem character was ridiculous, yet another perfect and innocent wannabe actress. Dexter talks to her for five minutes, and he's in love? And he practically stalks her from Vegas and she doesn't think he's a nutcase? I don't know...this book is good for a day at the beach, but don't expect anything groundbreaking, and don't expect anything different from any of her other novels.
Rating: Summary: Very lovely and entertaining book Review: It was a very interesting read, it had romance, drama, suspicions and more. it was a while since I read it but I highly enjoyed it, she'll leave you wanting more and with a lovely ending. The characters weren't predictable so thats good. one more impotant thing: Since you'll love this book do not be tempted to get lethal seduction:the prequel which I think came after it, because it was Horrible!!! it felt as if she was rushing to make a dead line, and she repeated every single thing and focused mainly on michael. It was a very annoying book.
Rating: Summary: Not a Collins Best Review: Madison Castelli is one of the main female characters in the book. She's no Lucky Santangelo that's for sure, but she's a good character. She's beautiful, of course, so I couldn't understand why she was hanging on to grief about her ex-lover having walked out on her for another woman...two years ago. Madison's best friend, Jamie Nova, finds out that her perfect husband is cheating on her in the most devious manner. Rosarita Falcon is the bitchiest character I've come across in a long time. She is unhappily married to a handsome but unsuccessful soap opera star, Dexter, whose real name is Dick Cockranger can you believe it? too funny. Rosarita is having a torrid affair with Joel Blaine, public sex fanatic and son of billionaire Leon Blaine. Rosarita asks her father to kill her husband, Dexter, since she believes her father is in the mob. We never do actually learn if he is in the mob or not. ... Not the best of Collins, but a fun read nonetheless.
Rating: Summary: Another winner Review: Once again I enjoyed this book tremendously. I also picked up a few pointers. This was my first Jackie Collins novel. I have read about eight more and still counting. For a first impression I was very impressed. Keep up the good work, we love it.
