Summary: I couldn't stop reading...
Review: ...which is not unusual for a Whitlow mystery. "Life Everlasting" is a sequel to his equally engaging "Life Support". Whitlow is able to take a reader and introduce or reintroduce him to a list of characters who become fleshed out with distinct personalities and experiences that are far from predictable. If the reader has an interest in either music or medicine he will be especially intrigued by the depth of insight into the mysteries of healing both soul and body. For those interested in romance, your will find it here as well. I recommend you start the book when you have a long, unintereupted weekend or break so you won't have to stay up several nights reading until your eye lids refuse to stay open, as happenned with me. It is time well spent!

Summary: Life Support and Life Everlasting are Life Giving!!
Review: Life Support and Life Everlasting written by Robert Whitlow are his best yet. Both gripped me from cover to cover. After reading Life Support, I anxiously anticipated its sequel. Robert Whitlow delivered in Life Everlasting. Life Everlasting was full of unexpected twists and turns that kept me in suspense. Whitlow's character development and imagery are wonderful, especially his everlasting message of love and hope that only God can give. Life Everlasting satisfied my curiousity and need for closure after reading Life Support. Again, a wonderful read and I loved the ending! You leave this book feeling that all is right with the world and with the conclusion that no matter what happens to us, God is in control and when we rely on him, his infinite wisdom provides us with the answers we need to guide us to the right path.

Summary: Life Everlasting - Whitlow's Conclusion to Life Support
Review: Mr. Whitlow brings a profound message of faith in this sequel to his last novel, Life Support. This is the kind of book you look forward to curling up with at night, one that motivates you to get things done, knowing that you're in for a real treat when you're ready to relax with it.

The story picks up with Baxter opening his eyes for the first time since being plunged into a coma resulting from his "fall" from a cliff during a picnic with his wife, but unable to communicate in any way; Rena, his wife, trying to hide her past transgressions by digging deeper into a tangled web of lies and deception; Alex, Rena's attorney, still attempting to defend Rena but becoming suspicious and skeptical about her client's intentions and sanity, while trying to sort through her feelings for Ted, the pastor and friend who introduced her to Jesus; Ted still trying to coax Baxter out of the cocoon of darkness and silence that embraces him through faith and trust and the beauty of the glorious music God allows him to create; and Sarah, the nurse who lends her voice to the piano and joins Ted in his crusade to get to the truth.

Mr. Whitlow, being a man with "huge" faith in the wonders of God, does not hesitate to make a miracle appear to be an everyday occurrence. Of course, in God's world, and for those who believe in them, miracles ARE everyday occurrences. This story is full of lessons and tests of faith like those we face everyday. It is delightful!

Summary: A great continuation of Life Support
Review: Robert Whitlow made his fans wait a little over a year for the next installment in his Santee series. The good news is--the wait was worth it. The bad news--the book was so good, it just flew by and I'm left wondering where Whitlow will go next.

A word of warning--if you've not read Whitlow's marvelous "Life Support" you need to before reading this book. The story here continues the story begun there and while readers of "Life Support" will be able to pick up on what's happened even if it's been a while since you read the book, new readers will probably come away a bit confused. But trust me--both of these novels are worth reading.

Whitlow continues the story of Baxter and Rena, Alexia and Ted. One thing I've come to enjoy about Whitlow's novels is that he places the characters in interesting moral and ethical situations and doesn't take the easy way out. Also, his characters feel real over the course of his story. He gives them strengths, weaknesess and flaws--just like all of us. His prose is extremely readable and he never goes over the top. Instead, he draws you in like an old friend telling a story and the pages just fly by. Indeed, my only complaint about this story is that it ended too soon. I was ready to spend another 100 or more pages with the story of Alexia Lindale and her personal journey. I am crossing my fingers that since this book is listed as the second book of the Santee saga, that Whitlow will make a return visit to his fictional characters and town soon.

Summary: Life Everlasting Life Changing
Review: This is the sequal to Life Support. I found this book to be one that I could not put down. This book along with Life support present the Facts of the power of God. The power of forgiveness. It is well worth the read.

Summary: Oh sweet music! Ended all to quickly.
Review: Well, Robert Whitlow brings the Santee series to a close with a rather quick ending, yet altogether satisfying.

We rejoin Rena Richardson, Alex Lindale, Ted Morgan, and a few new faces in this fight for the life of one Baxter Richardson. We get some sharp looks at Boris, Alex's dog, sulking from Misha the cat, and admiration from Ted. Although this wasn't the quickest Whitlow read, it is without a doubt a work anointed! Whitlow can be proud of this accomplishment.

A good start, like Whitlow always does, yet it did seem to drag a little bit, and while it was uplifted our spirits, he could've taken a few pages. There was sometimes a slow burn. Sorry, Robert. While "Life Support" set up a grand finale, he produced a work that will appease his fan club, but I think many will agree that this isn't his best work. As a big time fan of Whitlow, I'd have to recommend "The Trial" as his best work to date. Yet he still takes us through life in the south, with smells of the best chicken fried steak, the sweetness of iced tea, and the splash of the ocean. Robert Whitlow is never at a loss for words.

So hey, he slows his pace a little, yet keeps his eye on the goal, which he achieved! That's more than enough to keep me reading Robert Whitlow! I'll be anxiously awaiting his next book!
