Summary: DISAPPOINTED
Review: After reading The Price of Passion, I wanted to read all the books written by this author. But, Dangerous Dilemmas is not what expected it to be. I don't think she spend enough time on Sam. I think she should've told MaryBeth and her children the truth. That would've made the story more interesting. I'm not going to let this one book discourage me. I would like to know if anyone can help me get a copy of Three Perfect Men....

Summary: almost perfect
Review: Audrey Roberts' life falls apart in the first chapter. She recovers it of course and finds the man of her dreams. Normally I hate romances but this was different. Ms. Palfrey writes beautifully and this is deeply moving story. My only criticisms are about the sudden shift to the secondary romance between the two supporting characters. Their romance seemed to be contrived and I skipped over the chapters that were wasted on them. Also, the problem of Malcom, the no good son is never answered. Did he decide to grow up? Did he decide to get a job? You never find out. Other than these little hiccups I loved the book and will be buying more novels by this author.

Summary: Good twists and turns keep the reader going.
Review: Audrey Roberts' whole life has blown up in her face. Her long time marriage is over, destroyed by a devastating secret, and her son is in jail facing murder charges. Now she is faced with starting over. She goes to Houston to stay at her college friend, Sondra, and to visit her son in jail. Along the way, she has car trouble and encounters Kirk Maxwell, a police lieutenant. Maxwell is a widower still feeling the affects of his wife's death, but Audrey strikes something in him unexplainable. When they find out they are both friends of Sondra, they strike up a friendship during her stay in Houston. When she walks into the courtroom for Malcolm's preliminary hearing, she is amazed to find that Maxwell is a key witness. Maxwell is shocked that the mother of the suspect of serial killings of Asian store owners is the woman he has not been able to get out of his mind. He knows now that Audrey considers him an enemy and he may never get next to her. But he knows he must try. Audrey knows her son is not a killer, just a kid who is a talented artist and has been unable to live up to his attorney father's standards or expectations. She is conflicted between loyalty to her son and the strong attraction to a man who has the power to turn her way upside down. This is a story with a number of twists and turns that will keep the reader turning the pages. A good secondary story line involves Audrey's friend, MaryBeth and Maxwell's partner, Danny.

Summary: Life's choices - Take the bitter with the sweet
Review: Audrey Williams Roberts is a woman who at this stage of life has several situations that have placed her in "Dangerous Dilemmas". Not only does Audrey has a health problem she has been battling with for years, but now she is faced with three other issues. One, her youngest child, Malcolm is in a life threatening situation where he is arrested and brought to trial. Then Audrey discovers that her husband, Sam, is having an affair with someone that Audrey cannot compete against even if she wanted to. Finally, Audrey meets someone else, literally, the "man of her dreams" only to find out that he could also be the man that helps convict her only son to life in prison or even the death penalty.

Audrey realizes that the choices she is faced with are only choices that Audrey can decide what must be done. Audrey is a strong woman and a protective mother. Will Audrey do what is best for her and her child or will Audrey let society dictate what must be done?

Kirk Maxwell, a widower and a police officer. Kirk is a kind hearted, but lonely guy, whose paths cross with Audrey's at a time when they both need someone in their lives and something else to take their minds off of their problems. However, is Kirk destined to be the guy to help solve Audrey's problems and is Audrey the woman to help ease Kirk's lonely days and nights?

"Dangerous Dilemmas" is a fast and exciting read.

Summary: Another great sequel
Review: Audrey's story is fantastic. It is touching to read such thoughtful mature writing with mature characters. Evelyn has done it again. Malcolm, what a sensual man. Malcolm knew what he wanted and got just what he asked for and more. Audrey was a very strong and thought provoking women. Many would have done it this way and that way. However, Audrey laid it out for ex-husband like a PRO would do. All the characters in the book were great and something else. However, Evelyn left me hanging about Audrey's daughter. My big guest is that this trilogy isn't over yet. Bring it on Evelyn !!!!!

Summary: Dangerous Dilemmas
Review: Dangerous Dilemmas by Evelyn Palfrey is a delightful story about having to cope with life's diffculties. Audrey Roberts was a wife that suddenly finds out her husband is having an affair with a man. She is also slightly overweight and has a problem child. This is not the best book, Ms. Palfrey has written but it will do. If you are a first time reader, please check out The Price Of Passion. You will not be able to put the book down until you are finished reading. My hand goes out to Ms Palfrey, she is an excellent writer. I look forward to her new upcoming book.

Summary: LOVE COMES FOR ALL AGES, SHAPES AND SIZES
Review: Dangerous Dilemmas by Evelyn Palfrey is a tantalizing story about love in
midlife mixed with an exciting array of family drama, infidelity, and mystery.
Audrey Roberts was a wife and mother for 25 euphoric years. She struggled with
everyday, normal issues like her weight and communicating with her children.
While her life was not brimming with excitement, it was comfortable,
predictable, in a nice way. All of that ended when her son was arrested for
murder and she walked in on her husband in bed with someone else. Suddenly,
Audrey had to rely on her personal strength and confidence to weather the
storms that lay ahead of her.

As Audrey attempts to navigate through the tumultuous storms of her life, she
meets Kirk Maxwell, who seems to be just what the Doctor ordered to boast her
sagging self-esteem. Kirk is tall, dark, handsome, and charming. Through
Kirk, Audrey relights a flame within herself that had long ago blown out in her
empty, comfortable marriage. However, Audrey and Kirk's happiness is short
lived because Kirk is the detective in charge of Audrey's son case.

Dangerous Dilemmas is filled with intriguing characters and a solid story line.
Evelyn Palfrey also brings back some familiar characters from the Price of
Passion.

Summary: Charming and Romantic
Review: Dangerous Dilemmas is the story of a Dallas mother named Audrey Roberts, a woman whose life should be secure but isn't. She's been married for twenty-five years to a lawyer, she has two young adult children, she enjoys traveling, everything should be set. But then her world is uprooted when her son, Malcolm, is accused of killing a man in Houston, a horrible crime that Audrey cannot imagine her son committing. She's ready to fully support her son, but her husband, whom she thought she knew, is someone she really didn't know at all, when she discovers him in bed with someone she knows. They prepare to divorce and Audrey questions who she is as a woman, why would her spouse choose to be with the person she caught him with in bed?

To make matters worse, one day her vehicle breaks down, and she's at an emotional low when an attractive police officer happens to offer her some assistance. Fortunately, his entrance into her life gives her the turnaround she needs. Maxwell is strong, feisty, attentive, and a calming presence. But just when things start to get comfortable, Audrey discovers that Maxwell was the arresting officer in her son's case. The odds seem to be against this couple ever developing a romantic liaison, things are too close to home, yet through the power of persistence, the gentleness of love, and the basic human need of understanding and support, Audrey and Maxwell carve out a place for one another, and open up their hearts to a tender romance for two people who've known hurt in the past.

Through Dangerous Dilemmas, Evelyn Palfrey has written a realistic and charming tale of romance that restores hope into the possibilities of love against all odds. Her style is warm, endearing, and you may enjoy the playful banter between the two main characters. Dangerous Dilemmas is a solid winner, a highly recommended read, one that will take you away and let you escape as you imagine your own possibilities of love and fulfilling relationships.
