Rating: Summary: A masterpiece in intrigue as history comes alive! Review: "Bloodline" is a riveting tale that blends the facts from a highly publicized historical event into a spellbinding contemporary novel. After more than a century, the infamous Jack the Ripper still has the ability to hold our fascination. "Bloodline" keeps the reader entranced as it takes us through the original Ripper murders and a string of present day copycat homicides. Victoria, an FBI profiler, and Jonathan, a Scotland Yard detective, are wonderful characters who have us on the edge of our seats as they race to unmask the present day serial killer by unraveling the facts from the historical slayings. Their solution is captivating and believable. I would love to see this duo reappear in a sequel, continuing to solve the crimes of today and yesteryear. Treat yourself and read this mesmerizing tale of suspense, mystery and romance. You won't be sorry.
Rating: Summary: Boring Review: As usual, the most inspiring part of Jill Jones's books is the historical information. This one, however, lacked anything else intersting. The Jack the Ripper history was fascinating! The diary and the scenery in modern day Whitechapel in London was riveting and for that poriotn of the book, I couldn't out it down. Though I guessed within the first 50 pages who the killer was (and no red herring was convincing enough to throw me off track), I kept reading for Jack's diary. When the book switched focus to the "romance" however, I quickly lost interest. All mystery and suspense details faded into the background behind colorless and vague characters. I couldn't believe that Victoria was and FBI profiler any more than I could believe that Jonathan was Scotland Yard. Apparently, neither of them ever had to work, or report to a superior. I eventually ended up skipping about fifty pages of dull romance just to chekc and see if I was right about "whodunit." I was, and then immediately threw this book in the pile to donate to my local library. If you like Jill Jones's twist on history, youmight like to skim this one for the Ripper's diary, but otherwise, don't waste your money.

Rating: Summary: Are there killer genes flowing through his veins? Review: Bloodline is a departure from Jill Jones' previous novels. She deftly and skillfully makes the transition from "intriquing" to "chilling"! Bloodline will keep you rivited from page one. Jones ability to weave the present and the past is, as usual, superbly researched and presented. Her heroins are strong, sensual and human. It is no different with Bloodline's Victoria Thomas. Her emotional relationship with her mother brings you back from the horror of the murders into everyday reality. Beware, however, Jones has a way of describing the murders in chilling and bloody detail. The cold cunningness of the killer's thought process and the demons of another era that haunted him, will make you shiver. Are the genes of Jack the Ripper flowing in his veins? You be the judge...

Rating: Summary: No Mystery Review: I found this book very disappointing. Aside from a total lack of suspense, the killer was obvious in the first chapter. This is the 1st book I have read by Jill Jones and it's probably the last.
Rating: Summary: Great Introduction to Jill Jones and her talent Review: I had never heard of Jill before I heard an interview with her on our local NPR radio station (WBAA@Purdue University). I was very impressed with her as a person during the interview .. and was fortunate to 'win' a copy of her book following the show. I am incredibly busy - reading a novel is an incredible luxery; reading is not limited in my work however: I douse the fires of over 45 technology, graphics and environmental journals each month .. not to count the constant mast I grind from the online sources. So, it takes a LOT for me to be drawn into a novel. Well .. I was NOT only drawn -- I was INGESTED into "Bloodline"! I must say there have only been a very few books - of any kind -that have ever done that to me: Hugo's "Le Misables", L'Amour's, "Last of the Breed", Ambrose's "Undaunted Courage" and Brokaw's, "The Greatest Generation" come to mind. Jill, as has been said by the other reviewers here, has a very unique way of describing some of the most gruesome and chilling acts in the history of criminology, in defined detail, while at the same time weaving a warm feminine touch of a seemingly impossible romance. My wife enjoyed the book as much as I did. We even had a contest on who would finish it first .. we only hade 30 minute blocks to read it in!! Wonderful writing .. on a very well told story of historical fact .. and as well one of criminologies most famous UNSOLVED crime spree. A very hard task to undertake .. but Jill has done it with infectious charm. I will be reading more of Jill Jones in the future. I highly recommend the book .. Jill is good at writing and make the entire encounter a reall joy.
Rating: Summary: fast paced and thrilling! Review: I have always been fascinated with the tale of Jack the Ripper. The way Ms. Jones interweaves the old story with the new had me on the edge of my seat. A very original, fresh spin on a thrilling old tale, this story has it all. If you don't buy another mystery this year, get this one. It was simply wonderful.
Rating: Summary: This is the first book by Jill Jones I have read! Review: I haven't finished the book yet, but so far it is one of my favorite books! It's chilling, thrilling, romantic, and mysterious all at the same time. If you have never read a book by Jill Jones before like I had, you will love this one! You can't put it down!
