Summary: Whoever said this book was not good, should read it again!
Review: I read a few of the reviews and had my doubts about this book, but, I bought it anyhow. I'm glad I did. Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. I was up until 6 am, and missed my 7:18 am class that morning! I didn't care! It was only my first time this quarter. I loved this book. I especially loved the witty dialogue between Fiona and Ace. These two were made for each other, you could tell that when she breaks his 'gator at the airport, their first meeting, even though he wants to kill her at this time! The only thing that kept me from giving this books five stars was the fact that Fiona would act "weak" at times. I know her whole world was completely put into chaos, but her tendency to blank out and just stop functioning during times of stress, made me want to slap her at times. Other times, she was just great. Ace is a Montgomery, of course he's perfect! What more can I say? Overall, a great read Ms. Deveraux. Thanks again!

Summary: High Tide
Review: I usually love Jude Deveraux's books, but this one was NOT one of her best. Although the love story between Fiona and Ace was good, the whole plot was a little sketchy. It didn't reveal enough of the story to draw me in. This was no "Knight In Shining Armor", that's for sure.

Summary: Still a fan of JD's, but not of this book.
Review: I consider myself a huge Jude Deveraux fan, however it's hard to believe she wrote this particular book.

The good parts: The relationship between Fiona and Ace.

The not so good parts: The entire cast of other characters and the whole convoluted plot.

There were way too many secondary characters, none of them fleshed out very well. And, for the most part, none of them the least bit likeable or interesting.

There is a strange side trip into a retirement village that seems to be inhabited entirely by these weird secondary characters.

The plot involves a murder, a doll, a map, some gold lions and a host of old weirdos from Fiona's past.

And, if Fiona was so beloved by her father, why is her middle name the same as one of the "bad" characters? Confusing and too scattered to be interesting.

I truly hope that I must have missed the entire gist of this book because if this is where she's headed with her writing style I really do want to enjoy it.

But she's written enough great historical romances that she deserves to do anything she wants.

I'm still a fan of hers, but not of this book.

Summary: What is happening to Jude Deveraux books?
Review: I've read this book and i must say that i prefered it to An angel for emily and the blessing! However, i don't like her contemporary romances, she should stick to historical romances and expand on her montgomery tree among others. She ahd the right idea using montgomery in the book but the plot i thought was not very well done just like the preveious contemporary romances she's done

Summary: A Great Book!
Review: I am a huge Jude Deveraux fan, and her newest book, High Tide, is a wonderful addition to her collection of works. The characters are easy to identify with and the dialogue is sharp and at times very humorous. This is a must for anyone who has ever read a Jude Deveraux book.

Summary: Excellent, ExcelLENT, EXCELLENT
Review: This was a GREAT book. I loved the characters, the romance, the mystery and Ms. Deveraux's wit. I noticed that this book got some unfavorable reviews. All I can say is that the people who gave it these reviews must be diehard historical romance readers. Ms. Deveraux had done a wonderful job in writing this contemporary romance/mystery novel. I hope she continues in this type of writing. I have read almost every book Ms. Deveraux has ever written. She was great at historicals, but is even better with contemporary mystery/romance. Please keep them coming.

Summary: What a poor job, from such a great writter!
Review: After hours & hours of reading pleasure, I found my self wondering if I was really reading a Jude Deveraux book. Romance/mystery/suspends is not her cup of tea, she needs to go back to what she knows. Deveraux has a Montgomery interacting with Taggerts, without another Montgomery in sight. Be for real, this family just does not roll that way. There are too many holes in this story, and no answers. Who the heck was Rose? Why would the main characters trust Susie right out of the blue? Why would four childhood friends sit in New York and wait while their friend was being hunted down for murder, and not one of them try to reach her? I have read everything Ms. Deveraux has written, but I will not buy another of her books just because she wrote it. She has been going down hill since An Angel for Emily & The Blessing.

Summary: High Tide
Review: I liked the story line and decided not to wait for the paperback. The story was a bit incomplete. Things were left out, sort of like parts of chapters were missing. People were not thought out. If you read Taggart story line you will more than likey read the book but wait you won't be missing anything.

Review: I loved this story line, and the Montgomerys and Taggerts, they are my favorite characters. I feel there were to many characters for me to follow. Ilove Jude Devereaux.

Summary: HIgh Tide
Review: I thought the book was marvelous! I've read all of Ms. Deveraux's books and found that this one was certainly one of her better ones. I don't usually enjoy contemporaries as much as historicals, but this one held my attention so much so that I read it in one sitting. The Montgomery/Taggert family bond helped to bind this story in a way that makes you glad that there are families that are still as close as this one. Not only that, but I love it when an adventure like this one can keep me on my toes. I felt as if I were the one being chased! Excellent job as always Ms. Deveraux, but I'm still hoping for a historical next year!
