Rating: Summary: An almost perfect summer beach read Review: This strikes me as an American version of the British "cozy" mystery. No gore, no vulgar language, no sex, just local color, a couple of relatively "clean" murders, and a strong yet still vulnerable woman solving the mystery in the nick of time. It's utterly predictable and rather flat in style, yet I was sucked in from the first page and read it in practically one sitting. Highly rcommended for summer reading (or, since Christmas has quite a bit to do with the plot and setting, snowbound reading). It'll make a fun TV-movie someday, I'm sure!
Rating: Summary: Brilliant read Review: wonderful book! The first book in many years to grab my attention from the first chapter and keep it! I, normally a slow reader who takes her time reading only during boredom, was searching for time to finish this book. However, when I finished it I wished there were more, just because I became so attached to the characters.
