Summary: WONDERFUL!!
Review: I come from the town that this book was based on, and i live only about 3 miles from the Ragged Edge Inn, as it is called in my town. I found this book to be totally captivating, and to me it was especially intersting because i can relate to the places in the town, and there are just a few changes in names, but basically all the land marks talked about in the book actually do exist here. The authors recently came to the playhouse where i worked this past summer, the playhouse refered to in the book itself actully to help it raise money. The authors are great people, and i respect them for coming to a little town like mine and help its summer stock theatre get some always needed money. I strongly recommend this book to any reader, it has been one of the best books i have read this year.

Summary: What's wrong with these people?
Review: I just finished this book and loved it! I really enjoyed the weaving of the past with the present. Also, I thought I knew who was responisble for the murder, but I was surprised. I think the book was an excellent read! I have to wonder what is wrong with the people who gave it a one and tossed it before they could finish. I can't imagine that we read the same book.

Summary: Good
Review: I liked this one. It's the story of an old house that has a history of brutal murder and suicide. Seventy years later a young couple purchases it with plans to restore both it and their marriage. The town, however, is not very receptive to their new neighbours and the search for the truth of the house's history begins.
Great characters make the book enjoyable and entertaining. The ending could have used a little bit more but overall it was a good read, with a little comedy but little spook.

Summary: ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
Review: I loved, loved, loved, loved, love, loved it! It's a story that takes place in two different times. Each chapter is either in the present or in the past and the way time slides back and forth is just way, way, way cool. It's perfect for a nice summer read or even for rainy days. Kept me turning page after page after page. But I recommend you do not read it at night. Although it doesn't seem scary as you read it...you get absolutely spooked out when night comes...

Summary: Great book by Foglia/Richards. Hope we see a lot more.
Review: I purchased this book based on a review in the Harrisburg, PA newspaper. I absolutely loved this book. Being close to the surroundings of the true story of the inn, Chambersburg, certainly peaked my interest. I love to stay at old historic inns and I really felt I was there and part of the mystery. This is a book you will not want to put down. I have this book as a must keep for my permanent library. Great suspense, great read.

Summary: Shallow and Uninspiring
Review: I wanted to like this book. I really did. I appreciated the attempt at intertwining two mysteries, separated by nearly one hundred years, into a single conclusion. Unfortunately, each character that I was introduced to, both present and past, rang hollow and flat and incapable of holding my attention. Each were little more than cliches that evoked neither care or concern from me. The "special" child, the uncaring & absentee father, the strong yet naive mother, the attractive yet emotionally stunted handyman. None of the characters ever swam in waters deeper than a desert stream.

I had hoped to be shocked, frightened or at least concerned while reading this book. Unfortunately, bored was as far as I got.

Summary: GOOD, OLD-FASHIONED FUN!!!
Review: I wrote a stellar review on this book when i first read it but, for some reason, amazon chose not to print it.....????? anyway, this was such a marvelous curl-up-in-your-comfy-chair-in-front-of-the-fire and read in one sitting book....the characters are reallly interesting, there is very definitely a mystery here.. it elvolves at a delicious slow pace, weaving its web and entrapping you in a 'murder she wrote' type of story...very well crafted and i would love to read more from these two very talented authors!!!! this is the book to grab if you're on the run at the airport...it will calm you down during your take-off and make the flight a complete delight!

Summary: A good story of solving a years old mystery
Review: If you like to read about the restoration of old houses, which I do, this is an enjoyable read. Some interesting subplots occur while trying to solve the murder that happened 60-70 years previously within the house. A troubled marriage, a developmentally disabled child, a romance, secretive townspeople, and the restoration of the house blend well with the main story.
