Summary: My First Dorothy Garlock Book and It Won't Be My Last
Review: I picked this book up on a whim and I wasn't disappointed. Ms. Garlock's descriptions of the late 1930's in rural Oklahoma transport you there with all the detail. Katherine Dolan gets hijacked on her way into town and from that moment on this is a real pager turner. The relationship between Katherine and Johnny is well written and you can't help but root for them. But other than the romance between Johnny and Katherine, there is also a underlying mystery going on with the mayor and the corrupt police. This book has a little bit of everything and it's set along a time that I haven't seen too many books written about.

What surprised from just coming to this website that there was are 2 other books dealing with some of the secondary characters in this book and a book after this one. I didn't think this book needed a sequel but it would be interesting to see where the future takes these characters. I am definitely a new fan of Dorothy Garlock.

Summary: A Great Book about a Depressing Time!
Review: I read this book from cover to cover in record time. This triology was an amazing view of the Great Depression years. Not much has been written about this time, and it was nice to see Garlock move into a new time on the American Frontier.

Summary: Dorothy Garlock is still the BEST!
Review: It took me one day to read this book. I Loved It! As always, Dorothy kept my attention from start to finish. Can't wait till the next one in 2000! I always feel fortunate after reading her books.

Summary: Read With Heart with pleasure!
Review: Kathleen Dolan has bought half of a newspaper in Rawlings, Oklahoma--a small town with big secrets. As she tries to uncover just what's going on, she finds herself thrown together with Johnny Henry. He's a complex man. A man who doesn't want the complications of falling in love. But sometimes loves happens whether we want it to or not.

With Heart is the story of two strong people who unite for a cause, and stay united for love.

Summary: The best of three books...
Review: Kathleen is a headstrong character who is unfraid to confront others about the dirt that she finds in the town. She wants to help clean it up even though she knows that it means she will be intimidated by certain prominent people... She has friends who help her, including Johnny, who comes from a different background, and struggles with his feelings for Kathleen. Dorothy Garlock does an excellent job of writing a sensitive and heartwarming book that makes us feel with the characters. I feel like I am witnessing the whole thing and I find myself rooting for both Johnny and Kathleen. I can't wait until spring to read her new book called After The Parade. A job well done, Dorothy!

Summary: EXCELLENT STORY!!!!
Review: This book continues the With Hope and With Song series. Dorothy Garlock is a very talented writer. With her stories there is never just an instant attraction and get together of the main characters, but a slow building up that makes the stories believable. When Johnny and Kathleen do get together, you have had such a build up that it seems so exciting. I also liked the mystery in every story. There is always some little surprise that you don't discover until the end. Lastly, Ms. Garlock's men are always the nicest guys. I will be waiting impatiently for the continuation of this story to come out in the spring of 2000!

Summary: A nice read
Review: This is an excellent book. In fact, the whole series is just great. It was this series that got me started reading Dorothy Garlock, in fact, it caused me to buy a bunch of books by her. I even have The Edge of Town, her latest hardbound.
