Summary: Riviting!
Review: One of the best yet most chilling romantic suspense novels I've picked up in a long time. This one gave me a serious case of the creeps but I found Jamie and Dillon so engaging that I couldn't put the book down. Their relationship is shrouded in darkness and danger and loaded with erotic sexual tension. Not for the faint of heart! I disagree with the Publisher Weekley's comment on Dillon forcing Jamie into having sex with him, I didn't see that scene as rape at all. Granted, he's no teddy bear but Jamie is well aware of that and what she is getting into with him and could have walked away if she chose to, she didn't. She had the guts to both stay and face not only him but her inner demons as well. The ending was well written suited both characters perfectly, an unforgettable read.

Review: Stuart has guts in her writing. What was it Lillian Hellmans said about McCarthy-ism...she would not cut her cloth to suit today's fashions? Well, that sort of sums up the writings of the utterly brilliant - no one like her!! - Anne Stuart.

She does not fashion her books to please everyone. She creates vivid, often jarring, unsafe characters and that provokes knee-jerk reactions in the readers. Savvy people appreciate this, the non-walk on the wildside - get nervous.

Jamie and Dillon are another of her dancing with the Devil on the edge of the sword and walk into the fire. This book burn, it makes you feel - maybe too much for some.

But she is the best. Keep them coming, Ms. Stuart and Never NEVER compromise!!

Review: Stuart is master. She makes other writers pale, and why she is not up there at the very top is only bad management on her publisher. There are a lot of good writers, but no one makes the impact, with such vivid characters as Stuart does.

You don't get knight is shining armour, she is the master magician of Those Dark and Deadly Bad Boys, mama warned you against, and we all prayed crossed our paths.

I think this is the best work Stuart has done since Moonrise, with Shadows at Sunset coming close. I could not put it down. At time you really really wanted to kick Jamie, but then I recalled how in our younger days we let parents and sibling influence us too much, so I empathised with her. I felt so for Dillon, this young life ruined, even when he tried to be half-honourable. Stuart made them so alive for me.

She provokes, make you feel and think as no other writer. I cannot she what she conjures next.

Keep them coming, Ms. Stuart....I cannot get them soon enough!

Review: This book is about as twisted and nailbiting as real life. This is the first book I've ever read from Anne Stuart. Her way of writing is a little confusing, but her story line definitely over looks it.

I rate 4 stars because even though it was a little hard to understand at times, the plot was there and it definitely kept me reading. Her romantic scenes were enough to make my temperature rise. The book kept me in suspense, for the most part.. even though I had a gut feeling of who was better and who was worse.

It would make a killer movie (no pun intended).

If you like romance and suspense, I would recommend.
