Summary: Compelling narrative with seasoned undertones of reality ...
Review: Brian Egeston is one of the most gifted young authors of our time. Each of his books brings a fresh new perspective to the reader through strong character development, humor, and excursions into realistic matters of human nature. Progressively, each of his works demonstrates greater depths of maturity, and higher heights of growth, in his journey as a writer.

In Catfish Quesadillas, he tackles the timely issue of declining customer service through the fictional narrative of a local business community's ill-fated competition for a million-dollar grant. My initial intention was to just give the book a quick peruse before retiring for the evening; however, the story was so riveting that I couldn't put it down until I was finished.

Egeston has truly outdone himself on this book. It is skillfully crafted with a mesmeric storyline. He very succinctly captures the true spirit of customer service in the Atlanta area. The cultural analyses are true to life. Exhilarating twists and turns permeate the plot. The title is catchy, creative, and captures the theme. Character development is full-bodied without overkill.

I truly hope that this book is a bestseller. Every business manager should order it for his or her employees as a component of a structured customer service training program. The average reader will love it for its entertainment value and appreciate it for its thought-provoking resonance.

Summary: AWESOME!!!
Review: This is one of the best books I have read in such a long time! A must read for all. Strong plot, and strong characters. Not just a story about customer service, but a story about culture and community.

Summary: Mediocre Novel
Review: This novel was so-so. Mainly a novel written about customer service. What I didn't particularly like was that this book leaves you with the myth that only people of color are mean, rude and nasty to customers. Which of course is not true I have been harrassed in many stores by white men and women who don't have any manners. I am ashamed at this author for displaying all of our people in this negative manner. Although I know this is fiction other races would laugh and believe some of the stereotypes written in this novel.

Summary: Catfish Q?
Review: Using the title of CATFISH QUESADILLAS, author Brian Egeston introduces readers to a novel centering around customer service and the pitfalls that can face our society as foreigners enter the scene with the foresight of offering the same supplies and services, but with an extra bonus -- a smile and a desire to please the customer and at a cheaper price. CATFISH QUESADILLAS is about three small businesses which are all competing for a grant to be given to the one with the best customer service and day-to-day operations.

As one can imagine, with a million-dollar grant at stake, out comes plans of destruction, battles to be the best, and outright unbelievable actions that at times threaten the community as a whole. Entertaining and humorous, CATFISH QUESADILLAS brings to light the need for improvements within some of our businesses and offers suggestions on how to ensure their success.

While this story could've actually been told in a self-help format, I love that Egeston made it fiction to allow the reader to get caught up in the story. Egeston's one-of-a-kind humor is ever present in this book, but more importantly, the message shines through like car beams on a dark highway. It is after reading it that one will fully understand that if major changes aren't made within the managerial ranks of some businesses, they simply will not succeed; especially small black businesses.
