Summary: Hearse of a Different Color is surely a different entry...
Review: ...in the mystery genre. Who would have ever thought a smart, fast paced, and funny mystery could be written about a protagonist who is an undertaker by trade. I wouldn't have thought it possible, yet Mr. Cockey manages to do just that. This is the second entry in the series and it stands very fine on its own, but still I would reccomend you read the first, because it too is a fun book. The plot here is twisted enough to keep you turning pages and the characters are interesting and well drawn. I look forward to the next from this author.

Summary: Hearse Me
Review: Another great book by Tim Cockey. I'm really looking forward to finishing the series. The characters are so much fun, and Hitch has the ultimate dry wit. A true fun mystery!

Summary: Another Enjoyable Hearse Ride
Review: As a mystery writer with my debut novel in initial release, I genuinely admire Tim Cockey's Hitch series. Hitchcock Sewell is a tall and handsome undertaker, and he finds himself getting involved in the complications you would expect a reluctant sleuth to become involved in. HEARSE OF A DIFFERENT COLOR will not disappoint you. It is a witty and well-plotted mystery with thoroughly enjoyable characters. It is the second fine effort for Mr. Cockey. I am eagerly awaiting his third.

Summary: Hilarious As Always
Review: Endlessly entertaining, even if you're not an avid mystery reader (which I'm not). Get it for the summer. His first book, the Hearse You Came In On, is also good.

Summary: I might have been bored...but I was too busy laughing
Review: Fans of detective series should certainly take a peek at Tim Cockey's Hearse series. Hitchcock Sewell may be a mild-mannered undertaker who plays cribbage with his aunt to see who gets to run the next funeral, but his life always seems to be complicated by a combination of ladies and dead bodies.

Baltimore never seemed so interesting. With his first novel, Cockey set the stage for what should be a long-running amateur detective run. This time around a dead body is dropped off at the funeral home mid-service in a most unorthodox manner. No matter. Hitch has already had a taste for the PI business and he seems to like it. With help from his horny ex-wife, a dead porn star, and her pouting sister he's sure to have his hands full.

What sets the Hearse series apart from the gazillion other wannabe detective series is the pure joy of Hitchcock Sewell's daily existence. He's surely an everyman, a John Doe. The dog's peeing on everything, the girlfriend is trouble, and the Chevy Nothing isn't quite what it was in the first novel. Even the mystery and mayhem is constructed better this time out. Like last time, it's complex and involves many layers of the Baltimore elite. Unlike last time, mysteries unravel in a more logical manner and leave the reader a little more satisfied.

Give the hearse a test drive and you'll probably find yourself waiting for the next installment like I am.
