Summary: Gets you hooked on Carol Higgins Clark!
Review: I love Mary Higgins Clark and her daughter does not disappoint, either. This was the first book I read by Carol and I found it a light, quick read and very satisfying - no loose ends left on the last page. Be careful - this one could keep you up at night!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: funny, intriging, and entertaining
Review: I really enjoyed this book..The characters were believable, and the story line was easy to follow, without being simple or boring.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: AN INCREDIBLE PLOT; HIGH FUN
Review: I, for one, am getting just a bit peeved at those who think CHC's books are amatuerish and undeserving of publishing. Let us consider for a moment a woman writer--a woman mystery writer--whose books are outsold only by the bible. That's right, Agatha Christie. Let us compare the two. What was AC best known for? Well, it sure as hell wasn't character development. You couldn't tell Poirot from Miss Marple if one of them didn't have a yin and the other a yang. Giving them quirks is not character development. No, AC was best known for...what? Not character development, that's for damn sure. Not poetic, beautiful writing. As you can see, most of her books are slim, hard little gems that are short, fun reads. *Gasps* Much like CHC! What a coincidence! Dame Agatha Christie was known for (drumroll please) ingenious plotting!! Much like in Carol Higgins Clark's "Decked". She inherited this from her mother.
Let's have an overview, shall we?

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: neither CHC or AC

GREAT, POETIC WRITING: neither CHC or AC
PLOT DEVELOPMENT: both CHC and AC
INGENIOUS PLOTTING: both CHC and AC

Am I the only one who sees a pattern evolving here? I thought so. You see, if we adore Agatha Christie because of her deviously simple mysterious plots, then must we not love Carol Higgins Clark for the same reason?? Of course! So, I must ask, if, as writers, Agatha Christie and Carol Higgins Clark are so similar in their plotting and writing, then why the horrible reviews of CHC and fantastic reviews of AC? Think on it a bit. I'm sure it will come to you...

Summary: Fun, fun, fun!
Review: Like another reviewer wrote, I too was skeptical of reading a book by Mary's daughter. I was afraid Carol might be trying to ride her mother's coat-tails. How wrong I was! Carol's books are really nothing like Mary's, they are much funnier, and more like a "cozy" where Mary's are suspensful and scarier. Decked was a fun read, Regan is a great character and I'm glad she has a series, she's much too interesting to only be in one book. I hope Carol writes as many books as her mother has.

Summary: Wonderful, witty, fun, refreshing! Excellent read!
Review: This young author has been given the talent to hold her readers' attention. As I read this book, I was left wondering "who dunit". It's lighthearted, witty, trilling....well, you get the picture. The characters are first-class. The plot is original. I enjoyed this book because it was an excellent mystery and just plain fun to read. I didn't want to put it down until the end. Reagen Rielly is a refreshing change from the other P.I. She's a young woman made for the crime world. I indeed had a wonderful time reading this book. It's for anyone who wants a trilling, page-turning mystery.

Review: Unlike many of the readers of this book, I have never read a novel by Carol's mother. I came to Decked looking to find a spunky, interesting new voice. Was I disappointed. I don't know how this book got published. The plot was all of inane, the characterizations were cliched beyond belief, I didn't buy one of them for a second. The very writing reminded me of a ten year old. I should limit this review to the outrage I had that this book has sold as many copy as this, I wish I could ask for my money back. Apparently nepotism is a stronger factor in Mystery publishing than talent. If you are looking for something that is lighter than a Hard boiled Patersky on Grafton, Evanovich or Lauren Henderson and their ilk fulfill quite nicely. This was a couple of hours I could have spent watching paint dry to more interesting results.

Review: What a poorly written book! Did it not have to pass through editing? How in the world did it ever get published? I take that back, we know how it got published. If Carol Higgins Clark wasn't Mary Higgins Clark's daughter, and makes sure everyone KNOWS she is Mary's daughter, this book would never have made it off the slush pile. All is not lost, however. After I threw it against the wall, I now use the book as a coaster on my nightstand.
