Summary: Weak plot, undeveloped characters
Review: Boring, implausible plot, even though author tries to throw a few (uninteresting) twists into it. Characters are undeveloped and act strangely. Romantic angle never takes. "Momma-One-Eye" seems taken right out of Stephen King's "The Stand." Evil politicians/media moguls done to death.

Mostly a big yawner.

Summary: Move over John Grisham
Review: I hardly put the book down after i have started the first page, the plot was great i kept on reading until 2-3 in the morning and as a result i finished the book within 2 days i have never before finished any book with that length of time. This book is highly recommended to any one who loves thriller, you can't get any better than this. As for Russel Andrews "Bravo" I can't wait for your next book. I am devorcing John Grisham for you!.

Summary: Intense action and suspense!
Review: "Gideon" begins with an original premise: that of a down-on-his-luck writer hired to fictionalize an aged diary. He is only allowed to see portions of this strange diary at a time, and he is closely gaurded while in the presence of the pages. Soon, he realizes that this diary is the confessional of murderer...someone who, at a young age, killed his only brother. Carl Granville, "Granny" to his closest friends, is the writer hired to ghost-write this fictional account of an event that transpired decades earlier, in a town that reeks of chemical spills and pollution. The murderer is unknown, as is the town, and every other pertinent piece of information that was once present in the diary. The names and places have been mysteriously blackened in by the person who hired Granville to undertake this odious assignment. Soon enough though, the bodies began piling up, and Granville is being framed for every one of them. He is forced to flee, taking with him his once and future girlfriend, Amanda Mays, a journalist for one of the most influential newspapers in the country.

The premise is promising in this thriller, but by the end of its three-hundred-something pages, the novelty wears very thin, the plot becoming predictable and formulaic. It was like sitting down to a four-couse meal, and receiving only two of them...leaving one strangely unsatisfied and hungry for more. It was difficult to believe in the characterization and their actions throughout this story. This reader would recommend it, but there are far superior thrillers out there to be read!

Summary: A real page-turner!
Review: I have a three week old baby, and even with those 3am feedings, I still wasn't too tired to finish this book in record time. Great plot twists, and just when you think you know who the Closer is, wham! you have to think again. Hurry up and write another book, guys!!

Summary: Thin gruel!
Review: Not at all involving and I found the writing so poor as to be off-putting. I feel as though I've read this kind of big-conspiracy-in-high-places story all too many times.

Summary: Good Reading, A Well Done Thriller!
Review: I really enjoyed the first half of this book. Hated to put it down as I was totally puzzled by the plot. The second half kinda falls into typical movie thriller genre, but overall one of the better books I've read in quite a while. Well worth a look if you like thrillers.

Summary: Had a few surprises, but overall predictable
Review: Even though there were a few good surprises, I felt that overall the book was a little too predictable. It's still a good read, but I recommend waiting on the paperback.

Summary: A Great Thrilling Read
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a wonderful fast paced thriller, and kept me hooked from page one. I loved the twists with The Closer and the leak for the Gideon story. A great read that I will highly recommend to anyone who asks. My only question is... What did the fiery death of the illiterate worker have to do with anything? If anyone knows, let me know. It's been bugging me. Other than that... it's a great read!

Summary: Unbelievable!
Review: This work was just absolutley astounding. I couldn't put it down. These two writers are phenomenal and work so well together. I can't wait to see their next book. I thought it was funny how some of the characters seem to be influenced by our own political family. This book was very well developed and researched. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

Summary: Fast-paced, nail-biting suspense!
Review: Gideon delivers like a big Summer action movie - non-stop suspense and suprising violence keep you reading through the night. Highly recommended for your next trip to the beach. Look for an ultra-hip reference to the Loveless Cafe outside Nashville. Best breakfast in the US of A!
