Summary: Terrific! Tamar Myers is a riot!
Review: I've been reading Tamar Myers since her first book. Both the "Den of Antiquity" and "Pennsylvania Dutch" mystery series are a hoot from start to finish. Buy her back-list while you still can!

Summary: Old Lace Fresh and Fun
Review: This first in Ms. Myers' "Den of Antiquity" series was the most fun I've had reading since I finished her last book of her other series. Abby Timberlake is the owner of an antique shop in the south. When her aunt is murdered, she sets about to find the killer. You don't want to read ahead, because that would mean missing out on Ms. Myers' sparkling wit and humor that peppers each page. The reading goes fast since it's a page-turner, and the time spent is truly a relaxing, enjoyable escape. I won't even complain about the price of paperbacks with a book like this. Worth every penny. I've read all of Ms. Myers' Penn-Dutch mysteries. I was happy to see that this series is quite unlike her other. Characters are different, more liberal and not as restrained because of their religion as in the Penn-Dutch books. The plot was thick enough, and the killer a real surprise. A pure pleasure.

Summary: Love it, humor and a mystery!
Review: This is a new series I will have to read. I love Abigail and the crazy cast of characters in this book. Yes the mystery is light, but it is a good and enjoyable read.

Summary: Abigail Timberlake is Funny!
Review: This is starting out to be a funny series. I laughed out loud quite often. The mix of Southern belle with tough cookie that Abigail is is quite refreshing. Yes there are holes in the plot and some of it doesn't make sense at times, but the book is still funny. I think I may enjoy this more than the Magdelena Yoder series. We'll see. In this book, Abigail's old aunt who also sells antiques is killed with an antique bell pull (by the way there are lots of antiques strewn throughout the book). Abigail sets out to find a killer, and almost gets killed herself. Lots of laughs.

Summary: Good Series
Review: This is the first book in Tamar Myers Den of Antiquity Series and it's a good start. Abigail Timberlake is the owner of an antique shop in the South. When her aunt is murdered, she tries to find the killer.

As Abigail works to solve the mystery readers are introduced to the other characters in her life. Abigail's mother is a blast and I especially like the Rob-Bob's, but all of the characters are memorable.

The best thing about this series (and the Pennsylvania Dutch series by Myers) is the sense of humor. Many times I laugh out loud while reading her books.

The book isn't perfect, it could have used a good editor and I still don't understand the motive of the killer. But those are minor quibbles.

If you like cozy mysteries, especially ones with a sense of humor, this is a good series for you.
