Rating: Summary: Never trust a husband... Review: Body Parts is a crime itself. Describing gory scenes doesn't make up for lack of plot or credibility. To me, it was easy to guess the murderer, but harder to guess what the obsession with the main character was. She is unbeliveable. Supposedly smart, yet can't fix a light bulb with the danger around her? The references to the drums were ridiculous. Please... I should have been worried when her husband's review was used on the back cover.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down Review: Body Parts was a gripping read! Once I began I couldn't put it down. The heroine Tally Whyte was a compelling and real character who kept me engrossed the entire story. I give Stiefel a strong thumbs up on this first effort and look forward to more of Tally's adventures in future writings.
Rating: Summary: Meet a great cast of characters.... Review: Counselors at the Grief Shop; Penny, Tally's three-legged German shepherd from the Canine Corps; Jake, Tally's landlord; Mrs. Cheadle with her tales of her vaudeville days; and, of course, Tally Whyte are some of the memorable characters who live and die in this book. They and a riveting plot make for a great read!!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful new writer and great book! Review: I bought the book at random in the super market. The characters became personal from the beginnng. You care about them; and the descriptions of Boston make me want to go there! I can't wait for Tally, wonderful Penny, Jake, bubblegum Gert and the rest in their next adventure. Soon, I hope, Vicki!!!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful new writer and great book! Review: I bought this book randomly having never heard of Vicki Stiefel. I simply liked the description and from the first page I could tell I was going to like "Body Parts".For me, a great book has certain key elements: 1. Contiuous action/dialogue (I hate authors that describe every scene/person in overly minute detail) 2. Interesting characters with whitty & casual dialogue 3. A solid plot 4. A twist for an ending This book has every one of those things. Just when you think you have this one figured out, you find you don't!... I can't wait for the next book by Vicki and look forward to seeing more of Tally and her gang. If you like mystery and thrillers...grab this one! You won't be dissapointed!

Rating: Summary: Compassion and horror Review: I have to admit I don't often read horror, but Tally Whyte is a compassionate, exuberant, and human protagonist who can take you through the pages and make you wait for the next book. I loved learning about the gritty world of a homicide grief counselor and I think it's one of the more unique professions I've come across in a mystery.
Rating: Summary: Body Parts Review: I love mysteries and am always so happy to find a NEW writer that I enjoy. I pride myself on being able to guess the villan but Ms. Stiefel kept me guessing right up to the end. I agree that she may have presented more characters than necessary but I DO hope to meet some of these characters in her next books. Sure hope she keeps writing..I'll be watching for her next book.
Rating: Summary: Body Parts is awesome Review: I read this book in two scary nights. It's beautifully written, and I loved Tally Whyte, the heroine. She's got an unusual job. She counsels the families and friends of murder victims, so she encounters a lot of tragedy, a lot of intense emotion, and a lot of bad guys. The villain in this story -- I don't want to give away anything, but the book's title is apt -- is pretty scary. The novel is both mystery and thriller. Excellent!
Rating: Summary: completely average Review: I should have seen a red flag when I noticed that one of the positive reviews on the back of the book came from her very own husband! All-in-all, this book was completely average. There was nothing that stood out about it. The writing wasn't that exciting, and the author introduces so many characters that I had trouble keeping them all straight. I didn't feel any of them were developed well either. Bleh.
