Rating: Summary: Predictable Review: This was the first Mary Higgins Clark book I ever read, and, since it was the first, I wasn't able to guess the ending (like I have with the others). But for someone who has read many books by Clark and figured out the "formula" for how to guess the killer, this is a very predictable book. If you are new to Mary Higgins Clark's books, this will be interesting and unpredictable.
Rating: Summary: Untitled Review: Having been a first time reader of a Mary Higgins Clark novel I was pleasantly surprised. WeÕll Meet Again is a murder mystery that definitely kept me on my toes. In the story, Molly Carpenter Lasch is accused of murdering her husband quite brutally with a Remington bronze sculpture and is incarcerated on those charges. Her memory of that night was unexistant until she was out on parole and bit by bit events of that evening started fitting into place. Determined to find her husbands killer, she and an old classmate, Fran Simmons, begin putting the pieces of the murder together and start to investigate what the police wonÕt. Through the course of the novel dark secrets are revealed and situations occur that will leave you on the edge of your seat.Mary Higgins Clark is a fascinating writer, she does a great job of keeping her audience in suspense. It was surprisingly easy to keep track of the characters in the book, and the ending was not at all anticipated. I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys suspense or someone who is lacking a little excitement in their life.
Rating: Summary: A awesome novel. Review: We'll Meet Again by Mary Higgins Clark is a five star book. You will like this book if you like suspense. It is a mystery about the murder of Gary Lasch, and everyone believes his wife, Mrs. Molly Carpenter Lasch, had murdered her own husband. She had plead guilty to the manslaughter of Gary Lasch and was convicted to a 10 year sentence. She only served five and a half years in prison when subsequently her lawyer Philp Matthews wins her early parole. When she had been released she wants to find out the truth on who really killed her husband, since she believes she did not do it herself. She is so convinced it is not her but even her own mother and father, friends, and her lawyer believe she did kill Gary and is just blocking it out so she won't remember. By sneaking around she finds out more than she need to know and understands that she can't trust everyone she thinks she can. This is a perfect book if your ready for a suspense; you just won't believe the ending.
Rating: Summary: BEST OF THE BEST Review: MHC always delivers a well done 'who done it,' marked by superior plots and believable characters. MHC is without a doubt the best true mystery writer of her era and this book proves it. If you want other good mysterys read any of her previous works, they are all winners. Also enjoyed MURDER DOESN'T FIGURE by first time author Fred Yorg.
Rating: Summary: Good for a car ride to Florida Review: Mary Higgins Clark is a fabulous writer who adds to her book by using believable details and realistic situations that make a novel worth reading. Mary Higgins Clark is known as the "Queen of Suspense" for writing her terrific fiction novels. In the story, Molly Carpenter Lasch is accused of murdering her husband. All of the evidence points to her and she can't quite remember exactly what happened that terrifying night. She tries very hard to explain and remember, but that just might not be enough to help her survive the questions and the jury at the trial. Not many people believe Molly and she is sent off to court and Molly's lawyer sets up a plea bargain and gets sent to jail, but she gets earily parole. By the time Molly gets out of jail, she is ready to find the killer of her husband. There is only one problem; noone really believes that she is innocent. It is up to her to prove her innocence. Mary higgins Clark is a very suprising writer. What I mean is, she keeps you in suspense and never lets you get tired of the plot or know the next step of the story. She always throws you off before you can find out what is coming next. She can also throw you a curve ball in her stories. She just might lead you to think that she is bringing the story to one conclusion, but will end up with a totally different conclusion then you would have ever thought. The overall theme of this story is very heart racing and makes you stay at the edge of your seat with suspense and fear. Mary Higgins Clark is an amazing writer that always leaves you wanting more, more, and more. I truly enjoyed this incredible book. I would recommend this novel to anyone who is looking for a suspense thriller to keep you on your toes.
Rating: Summary: It Was OK Review: I bought this book because I am a huge fan of Mary Higgins Clark, but it was kind of a let down.I just kept waiting for it to get started and it seemed like forever. However, it did start to pick up about half way but it still couldn't make up for the slow start. The best thing about this book was the surprise ending and that was about it.
Rating: Summary: My first Mary Higgins Clark Novel. Review: I thought we'll meet agian was one of the better 'mystery' novels I have ever read. It was the first MHC novel I have ever read, and since I read it I have read lots of other MHC novels becuause I thought this novel was great. If you are read MHC for the first time I would not reccomend this novel, because it was not one of her best, if you are read MHC for the fist time try STILLWATCH. The only reason I just could not give this one five stars is because it is missing something that is in most of the other suspense novels I read. I can't name the thing that this novel is missing, I just know that it is missing something, it wasn't missing suspense, becuase it kept you in suspense thoughout the whole novel, I guess it was just the characters, I didn't feel for the characters as I do in other novels. The best thing about this novel is the suprising ending, you will now belive who the killer is when it is revealed..! We'll meet agian starts off with a young lady reaching the end of her jail sentece for murder. She knows she did not murder her husband, but she was convicted for it. throughout the novel she and her two friends try to find the actual murderer of her husband. After long hard research they finally do, the read murderer is astonishing..you would have to be phycic to try to find out the murder before the end. You won't be dissapointed after you read this terrifying novel, I urge to you to by this book.
Rating: Summary: Surprise!! Review: Though this book has a slow start... the last 1/3rd is very engrossing! The outcome was a surprise for me and I NEVER suspected the murderer! "We'll Meet Again" is another book in the long list of excellent and very entertaining mysteries by Mary Higgins Clark. This story is about Molly, a wife convicted of murdering her cheating husband, Gary. She does not remember the night of his death at all. When she is released from prison she asks her friend, Fran, an investigative reporter to help her find her husband's murderer, even if it turns out to be herself (Molly). While Fran investigates, another murder is committed and it looks like Molly will be tried for this death also! While Fran uncovers an inhumane research project that Gary and partners are involved in at the hospital she is nearly murdered herself! Overall, this book is very interesting with a surprising conclusion!
Rating: Summary: The person you suspect, is not the murderer... Believe me Review: This book is the first book I've read by Mary Higgins Clark. Its very interesting actually. Talks about the murder of Dr. Gary Lash, who his wife, Molly Lash was convicted of. Knowing that her "loving" husband has an affair with a youthful nurse, she went to Cape Cod to just stay away from Gary Lash temperarily. When she arrived home, she was shocked, completely of what she discovered. Her husband, covered in blood, his head caved in by a heavy horse scultor. blood dripping from his desk, made a puddle on the carpet. Molly, for a while did not remember a thing. Throughout this book, Molly regains her memory little by little. And also unfolds the many mysteries of Lash Hostpital. Patients dieing mysteriously... Healthy people who could be saved with a single shot. This book is absolutely entertaining! Especially at the end... where you will find out why all the facts the author put in on the other short chapters existed.
Rating: Summary: We'll Meet Again Review: We'll Meet Again is one of Mary Higgins Clark's best novels. I liked this book because it had a plot unlike any other books she had written. I also like the way Clark developed her characters because they keep you on the edge till the last page of the book. Set in the Cape Cod atmosphere, this book is wonderful reading. Molly Carpenter Lasch, wife of Gary Lasch, a successful doctor, is sent to prison for murdering her husband. It was supposedly said that she crept up behind him in his office and beat him with a large sculpture to death. Though she does not remember this, she admits to having done it with the facts the court has given her. She is sent to life in prison, but five years later, she is granted parole. Now that she's out of prison, Molly wants to uncover who killed her husband, who ruined her reputation, and who destroyed her life. The results are beyond your imagination.
