Rating: Summary: Mystery galore Review: Thomasine is a timid "holy" novice. All the sisters believe her to be saintly. She wiles away her time waiting impatiently for the time she could become a full fledge nun. Thomasine's world is turned upside down when her aunt arrives unexpectedly. Thomasine dreads this visit, in which her aunt makes a point in teasing Thomasine mercilessly by threatening to take her out of the nunnery and married to a lustly fellow--something Thomasine is deathly in fear of. After only a few days after arrival, her aunt becomes ill and then dies. Unfortunately, she's poisoned and Thomasine is the number one suspect. Its then up to Sister Frevisse to solve the mystery and find out who did the horrible deed. This is an interesting mystery. I gave it only four stars because I guessed who did it immediately, although I didn't know why. It was worth reading to find out why.
Rating: Summary: Keep Readin Review: When I first opened the book and started reading I was so mad that it was about a boring nunery and wanted to put the book down for good. When I kept reading and reading it got better and better. The characters, the action, the mystery,it was all so exciting. It was Constant reading for me until I finished. Who would ever think that a murder mystery in an old nunery could ever be so exciting and easy to follow. Margret Frazer's best work yet. If your looking for action and mystery, then don't even hesitate and read this book.
Rating: Summary: The Priory Isn't So Boring After All... Review: When i first read the title of "The Novice's Tale", I was afraid that my teacher had assigned a boring novel to compensate for our recent and entertaining British Literature presentations. But after reading the novel, i learned that life inside the priory isn't so boring after all. So much goes on inside the walls of St. Frideswide and much more goes on in everyone's minds. The Novice's Tale is a great mystery novel that keeps you guessing. You will even find yourself pointing your finger at one of the many prioresses! What makes it even more exciting is that this novel was written not too long ago, but it vividly depicts the life and times of the people living in priories during the 1400s. It is absolute easy reading. This novel is one of the best that I have read.
