Rating: Summary: Boring Review: The author's constant reference to other mystery writers was extremely annoying. I've read other books by this author, and don't recall this tactic. I will probably not read any more of her books.
Rating: Summary: Predictable but enjoyable Review: The latest installment in the Death on Demand series finds Henny Brawley prime suspect in a murder, and Annie, Max, Laurel, etc. working to clear her name. While the mystery is enjoyable, the series is becoming a bit too predictable. One of the main characters is usually a suspect, and the rest of the characters try to solve the mystery. As mystery readers know, you must suspend belief somewhat when reading the genre, but in normal life, how many of us or our friends are murder suspects? This is happening too often in this series. Perhaps it's time for Annie and Max to start a family.
Rating: Summary: keeps you guessing Review: This is a very enjoyable addition to the "Death on Demand" mystery series. It continues with characters that the reader has come to care about (even if they are not always likable) set in a resort island and nearby town. One of my favorite features of the series is the frequent reference to other mystery novels - a feature which I feel advances (and comments on) the plot and characters and serves to open up yet more authors for the reader to enjoy. An enjoyable "cozy", and I look forward to many more.

Rating: Summary: tiresome reading Review: This was a very tedious book to read. the constant interruptions to the action made me so frustrated I started counting them. There were 95 mentions of other mystery authors by page 200 which was way to intrusive. When the action was on Max (instead of Annie) the action moved better. This is the last of this series I plan to read.
