Summary: The Book Was Drab and Boring
Review: I read this book last year for my bookclub(Asthepageturns) and it was horrible. Poorly written, long, drab storylines, little characther development.

I am not looking forward to anything else this author has to write. She might want to take a few lessons form J. California Cooper, Pearl Cleage, Karen Quinones Miller, Jill Nelson, whomever!

Don't waste your money...pick it up at the library if you have to read it.

Summary: Anonymity
Review: I would like to give my comments about the book Anonymity. This book was extremely well written and very good reading. It's something I would like to see come to the screen. You know like a made for TV movie (Lifetime get ready). When the book was first released, we were able to get a review of the first few chapters on-line. Once I started reading it was very difficult for me to get back to work doing my job. I couldn't wait to get my hands on my own personal copy. My friend and I were delighted to get a chance to meet Mrs. Shivers in person at her book signing out in Hyde Park, IL back in November 2002. I have my copy of the re-edited version and I can't wait to sink my teeth into it.=)

Looking forward to Mrs. Shivers' next novel! Go Get 'em Margie! (Let's Talk Book Club).

Summary: Secrets, secrets, secrets...
Review: In this intriguing tale of suspense we are introduced to Cara Fleming, a young wife and mother whose life seems to be going along pretty well. That is, until her husband accuses her of infidelity. Not understanding why her husband believes "the proof" he received from an anonymous phone call, Cara sets out to prove her innocence. While on this mission, Cara stumbles upon a family secret that, if in the wrong hands, could destroy the lives of many, including her husband.

Full of twists and turns, "whodunits", mystery and suspense, I found this to be an enjoyable read. There were some parts of the story, though, that I had to re-read because I was left wondering what happened, causing it to be a bit disjointed. Possessing the ability to create both a strong plot and well defined characters, Ms. Shivers has what it takes to become a great mystery writer, and I look forward to her future works.

Summary: Captivating and Intriguing
Review: Margie Gosa Shivers new novel, ANONYMITY, is a captivating story.
Cara and Mario Fleming's story will take you on a journey of intrigue and suspense.

Cara's perfect world is shaken when Mario accuses of her infidelity. She sets out on a journey to prove her innocence. The chain of events that follow brings sadness and joy into Cara's life.

In Mario's mind, he feels Cara cheated on him out of revenge because of his past affairs.
His confusion causes him to be in denial about a lot of things.

Cara and Mario separate and during this separation Cara is hand-delivered a better job by a man she doesn't know. The job comes with a price she's not willing to pay.

She begins to become paranoid when she notices someone following her. As the story unfolds, other things are revealed that will alter both Cara and Mario's life.

In ANONYMITY, Shivers shows how men and women differ when it comes to infidelity. After reading the first chapter, you can't stop until you find out what's going to happen next.

Summary: Solid Debut Novel
Review: Margie Gosa Shivers' debut novel, "Anonymity" introduces us to Cara Fleming, an 'ideal' woman. She's beautiful, she's caring, she has morals and values, and she works hard to hold her marriage together, even after the juice has run low and her husband has an affair. As if trying to repair a marriage isn't hard enough, Cara's world is rocked to its foundation when her husband receives an anonymous phone call that leads him to accuse her of having an affair. In a snap, Cara is 'forced' out of her home and finds herself alone and with divorce papers. Someone is determined to ruin Cara, and she refuses to go down without a fight; however, she ultimately must learn that the price may be too high in finding out the truth.

I was definitely drawn into Shivers' world in "Anonymity" where politics, marriage, and scandalous activities run rampant. Cara is a complex character and the situation Shivers throws Cara in allows the character shine. Shivers handles the complexity of the storyline well; I never found myself lost or confused. From the first page, I was intrigued with figuring out who had it in for Cara and how the story would pan out, and Shivers paces the story nicely, letting the tension rise, and giving readers bits of information to push them further into the story. My only concern as I read was that at times, I felt I was being told too much information at times, and I wanted to figure out things myself.

For those interested in suspenseful thrillers that will leave you flipping pages quickly, you should definitely give "Anonymity" a read. I look forward to seeing what Shivers puts out next.

Review: Remeber the potato chip saying, "You can't eat just one!" The same applies to 'Anonymity,' you can't read just one, page. I thought I was going to flip through the book and pick out the good parts. That didn't happen. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. I am one who can figure who did what in a suspense story such as this one. That didn't happen either. This is truly a good book, very modern day. The tale of suspence, seduction and revenge describes this book perfectly. I give it two thumbs up and then some!!!! Great job Marge!!

Summary: Great Debut Suspense Novel!
Review: Someone anonymously calls Cara Fleming's husband with details of an alleged affair between Cara and an unidentified man. Why would someone set up and destroy the marriage of a perfectly decent woman? Determined to go on with her life, while it spins out of her control, Cara concentrate on what she loves to do best... help people. While using the internet to help an online buddy, she unknowingly uncovers a family secret that affects her soon to be ex-husband, Mario, his family and a well-known individual.

With the help of Mario's best friend, Detective Lester Miller, Cara works to prove her innocence. In the midst of her "detective" work she starts to fall for the handsome detective, which does not seem to be too bad. What does turn out to be bad, is when her search for justice, results in placing her life in grave danger.

Margie Gosa Shivers does a great job bringing all the details together. Unlike some suspense novels that tend to be predictable halfway through the storyline, readers will truly have no clue who is out to get Cara. It is always a treat to read a really GOOD debut novel, especially a suspense novel! Anonymity will grab readers from the beginning and let them close the book with a warm sense of satisfaction.

Summary: Solid mystery
Review: This book is a must read for book lovers who love intrigue and fast paced action. This interwoven drama thriller kept me nervous for the main character, Cara. If you love romance, you will also find it here. I was captivated from the start by Cara's strength, intellect, and determination as she fought to clear her name and stay alive. I love to pick up a book and immediately become enthralled. Being and avid reader, I tried to stay ahead of the story, which is my test for a solid mystery, but found I was no match for Margie Shivers' imagination. I found myself suspicious of everybody, and that's what kept me turning pages. I was hooked. No wonder it's already an award winner. Highly recommend this one and will purchase Margie Gosa Shivers book without even reading the storyline.
