Rating: Summary: Trashy fun Review: This is great rainy afternoon on-the-couch reading. When you're done, you'll actually start to wonder about your own mate. Just like Alice, the heroine of the book, you'll be forced to ask yourself the paranoid questions: How much do I really know about the man/woman I love? and Do I know enough?
Rating: Summary: One of the best books of the year Review: "Killing Me Softly" is the best book I have read this year. A psychological thriller that explores the relationship between a beautiful, powerful but deeply flawed man and a smart but needy woman. The characters are brilliantly drawn and totally believable and you will have a hard time putting the book down.
Rating: Summary: Can't put it down! Review: Killing Me Softly is a book that I think that every women on earth would one time love to feel the way Alice does with Adam, and Adam about her. The love, the obsession, the uncertainity. I have not yet finished the book I have a couple of chapters left and I have spent every moment reading it. I can't leave it alone.
Rating: Summary: It's only a summer read. Review: The character of Adam is not explored with enough depth to be as compelling to me as he was to Alice. We weren't allowed to discover Alice's longings with her to understand her actions. This story pilfered too much from other successful or popular ideas to be cohesive. It's a good summer read, nothing more.
Rating: Summary: Great and very fufilling mystery Review: This book was like Fatal Attraction meets 9/2 weeks. Couldn't put it down, very exciting and creepy. Good summer read.
Rating: Summary: Disliked it immensely Review: I guess if we can understand why Alice Loudon allows herself to become smitten with someone she scarcely knows ..then we can explain why so many women in the world become victims of abuse.
Rating: Summary: I can't describe it!! Review: It's about obsession. It's about love. It's about passion.@But most of all, it's about obsession. I feel that almost every woman would love this story. At some point halfway through the story, "I" ceased to be "me" and became "Alice", and this "Alice" adored Adam on the one hand but feared him so much on the other hand. This magnetism of Adam was so immense and his love for Alice so intense, that one wonders if anybody can survive such spellbinding relationship. And Alice did. Didn't she? Congratulations on your achievements, Miss French. Please write another story that is as compelling as this one.
Rating: Summary: here's what i think: Review: ok, i only read a small portion of the book out of a woman's magazine. but the part i read was astonishingly engrossing for me. i don't read very much...i'm a 13 year old girl. but i thoroughly enjoyed the book (or the part i read) and believe anyone with even the shortest of attention spans would like it.
Rating: Summary: Best Read In A While... Review: I read an excerpt of this novel in Cosmopolitan and at that moment I went out and bought the book. I wouldn't necessarily follow in Alice's footsteps but it became more and more understandeable why she followed Adam. His character was handsome, mysterious, eerie, and yet loveable. I felt so much sympathy for him that I had a difficult time hating him due to his intense love for her. This book was so good that when I finished I felt such a great sorrow for both Adam and Alice- it was as if they were real. This was definetely one of the best books I've read in a while.
Rating: Summary: Great, but disturbing Review: I read this book in one sitting on a cross-country plane trip, and found it engrossing the whole way. At first, I found it a little odd that a woman would just simply have sex with a man she only set eyes on once, but as I read on, Alice's motives became more clear and the attraction to Adam was understandable. I found myself holding my breath in certain spots, when Alice was about to be caught in her snooping. Killing Me Softly is like Bridget Jones meets Fatal Attraction. Wonderful summer reading.
