Rating: Summary: A Real Gripper Review: The Perfect Victim is a great read for those who love the 'woman in jeopardy' genre. Ms. Castillo is a talented storyteller whose characters live and breathe on the page. Her fast paced style keeps the plot moving and the people in it interesting. They tell the story, not the author. Her blend of snide comedic by-play mixed with romantic undertones snares the reader to the next page. This is one of the few novels that lives up to the 'sizzling sex' tag. Ms. Castillo has a bright future as a novelist who knows how to write stories people will want to read.
Rating: Summary: Wow, wow, wow! Review: THE PERFECT VICTIM is awesome. It just got a permanent place on my keeper shelf. This is Ms. Castillo's first single title romantic suspense, and she did not disappoint. I was riveted from the moment I started reading the intense prologue until the end of the book. Addison Fox is a strong, believable heroine, who owns a Denver coffee shop, and is searching for her birth parents. Randall Talbot is a burned-out airplane crash investigator for the federal Transportation Department, who's on leave for post-traumatic stress disorder, and working for his brother's PI firm. Addison and Randall do not get off to a good start as he mistakenly assumes she's a prostitute who owes his brother money. It is fortuitous that Randall comes to Addison's coffee shop a few weeks later to apologize for his behavior, because he saves her life when a masked assailant tries to kill her. Then he and Addison team up to find out why everyone involved in the search for her birth parents have been systematically murdered. The suspense, action and romance don't let up for a moment. Ms. Castillo's trademark bad-boy, tormented hero and incredible descriptions, along with sizzling sexual tension, and heart-stopping action are present throughout. Don't start this book until you have time to read it straight through, because I guarantee you won't want to put it down.
Rating: Summary: Amateur Hour! Review: This book is unreadable. Cartoon characters. Cartoon plot. Childish writing. Had to throw it in the junk pile but it still stunk up the house.
