Summary: COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!
Review: A great book! Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down.I found myself talking to Lisa, trying to warn her to look over her shoulder.Anders expertly brings you into the main character, so you are as terrified and as unsure of who to trust as she is.And it was fun to have the book set here in Seattle. As with her other books, Anders will entertain and capture you- keeping you tied to the edge of your seat!

Summary: A Mind Teaser
Review: A major fan of psychological thrillers, I found this book to be among the top in this genre. The female protagonist, Liza MacDonough, is compelling, strong, and believable. Although understandably frightened by a string of fatal "accidents" to people close to her, she remains proactive in trying to research her clients' complaints of conspiracy. Donna Anders excels at making every character we meet, a possible anatagonist, so that we, along with Liza, don't know whom to trust. For analytical readers who love to problem solve, this story will delight you. The suspense keeps you caught in its grip right up through the end.

Summary: I couldn't turn the pages fast enough
Review: And I thought Another Life and The Flower Man were scary! The suspense in Dead Silence started from the very first page and did not let up: esculating and building a frightening situation, resolving into a terrifying climax. I read all night and continued to do so even when my vision blurred from fatigue. I couldn't put this book down until I'd finished reading it! I am already anticipating Donna Anders next book. I can hardly wait!

Summary: THUMBS UP !
Review: DEAD SILENCE BY DONNA ANDERS I started with "The Flower Man" and then when "Another Life" hit the stands, I made a bee line for it. I am a definite fan of Donna Anders. I have been eagerly waiting for her next one when my friend e-mailed me that her new book "DEAD SILENCE" was on the shelf in the local bookstore. I'm certainly not the only fan as I got the last one they had. Each book is better than the one before. DEAD SILENCE is THE book to take you away if you want to escape from the daily hum drum, the TV, phone etc. and enjoy yourself at the same time. The pace is quick. The workplace, the characters and the events that surround "Liza" are very believable. That humans can and sometimes do behave in such a manner is all too common. Just read the headlines in the daily paper. Norma Rae, Erin Brokovick etc. The tight character portrayals and descriptions, the way Donna Anders writes, you could paint each place she takes you because you are there, and you can see it. The mental process of Liza keeps you turning page after page. Liza is fragile but she is tough too. She is not the 'Superwoman' of many of today's mysteries, but she is an intelligent everyday woman. I think all of us have at sometime or another been in a situation where we have felt fear. It can be paralyzing or galvanizing. "DEAD SILENCE" is a must read for anyone who enjoys mystery, and suspense. You won't be disappointed. I give it a 'thumbs up' for a great read. From a fan in the Northwest Territory.

Summary: Better than the Flower Man? I didn't think it was possible!
Review: Donna Anders is one of the most gifted authors of our time. This book was so compelling with a plot so masterfully woven that I could not put it down. Every book that I read of hers is better than the previous. I don't know how she keeps writing such masterpieces but I hope she continues to do so for many years to come. I can't wait for her next book!!

Summary: Seattle suspense
Review: Donna Anders' new book, a psychological suspense novel set in Seattle, features Lisa Mac Donough, whose husband has mysteriously disappeared while riding on a ferry boat, as she faces life on her own. Her world begins to gradually darken as she becomes suspicious about layoffs at the aircraft company where she works as a Human Resources expert. Despite the flourishing economy which produces many new orders, people are losing their jobs. Lisa investigates and stumbles upon evidence of corporate espionage. As her knowledge grows, so does her fear---she's being followed, and she can feel safe nowhere, not even in her high-rise condo. She wonders if there is anyone---even Seattle police officers---whom she can trust. Despite the increasing danger of her situation, she remains determined to find out who and what is behind this. Take a break from the hustle-bustle of the holiday season, settle down with a nice hot beverage---and listen for footsteps in the night! If you enjoy riveting suspense, this is your cup of tea.

Summary: Dead Silence by Donna Anders
Review: Donna Anders'newest psychological suspense novel "Dead Silence" kept me full of thrills and chills. Lisa MacDonough who is a Human Resouces expert deals with people being laid off in mass, even though the company has many new orders, and it's Lisa's job to help them survive in a jobless world. I've worked as a Human Resource manager. Donna's character Lisa MacDonough became a person I cared about.(She could have been me.) Gradually, she realizes that there is something fishy about the lay-offs, and stumbles into a major plot of industrial espionage. At the same time, someone begins to follow her. It's subtle at first, and gradually grows more frightening. As she walks faster, the presence behind her walks faster.(I don't want to spoil the suprises at every turn.) The ending will terrify the anyone, especially someone who are afraid of footsteps in the night and heights.(Warning, don't read "Dead Silence" when your alone.)

Summary: YIKES!
Review: I have read the Flower Man and Another Life. They were both terrific- and now we have Dead Silence. This book really gets to you, makes you feel like you are the one being chased!I loved it! Can't wait for her next book.

Summary: ok, but a bit off...
Review: I mostly enjoyed this book and yet I found myself getting angry with it at times. I found the plot interesting enough and I read the book quickly as I really did want to found out the ending. However, the characters were a bunch of idiots. They were shallow and weak and if Dave had called Liza "Brown Eyes" one more time I think I would have screamed! Ms. Anders knows how to build suspense, but her character development needs work. There is not much depth (the same goes for "The Flower Man")to her characters and I never find them particularly engaging.
