Summary: Excellant Book, Excellant Author!!
Review: I, myself am currently reading this book and so far am enjoying it. A lot of people complain about the plot and characters, yet as a TWELVE year old (anyone shocked? the librarian was!!) I dont catch these things. I love the Author and have read the following. Sphinx,Fever,Contagion,Blindsight,Outbreak,Vital Signs,Chromosome 6, and still reading!!. The books are really riviting and I enjoy every page.

Summary: An excellent escapist novel...
Review: Though the plot may not be completely plausible, it was plausible and compelling enough to rivet my attention. I really, really enjoyed this book. Cook's ability at medical suspense, coupled with his inevitable serving of just desserts at the end of his books, make all of his books --- (and this one in particular), highly recommendable.

Summary: The book Acceptable Risk by Robin Cook is a classic.
Review: The book Accetable Risk by Robin Cook goes right along with many of his other books, amazing. His medical knowlage and great suspense writing combine to make the thriller of the century. He explores the contraversy of testing drugs on humans with out approval and the long term effests of it. This is a true Robin Cook page turner.

Summary: Excellent-Thrilling-Captivating!!!
Review: Not only was the usual medical part of this book great, but the vast history of the Salem witch trials was wonderfully described. The way the book starts out was genious. I cannot wait until the Salem Archives is published!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An educational read!
Review: As I continue to read Mr. Cook, I am amazed at the thought provoking material he covers. Here the Salem witch hunts get a fresh interpretation and a plausible one at that. It shows what ignorance can do to other wise sane and well meaning people. Kim, the lady with the inferiorty complex, really becomes assertive while not depending on drugs to enhance her personality. Her erstwhile suitor, Edward, is not as fortunate. Brilliant as he is ,his lack of social competence, drives him to make a fatal error in judgement. But one can't help but empathize with Cook's characters. They are flawed, but altogether human

Summary: A nice surprise from Robin Cook
Review: In the late 1600's many fine women were identified as witches and put to death in Salem. It is the contention of one young scientist that the 'devil' was really drug induced and resulted from the women ingesting mold-tainted grain which accounted for hallucinogenic experiences and deformed births. Caught up in the current days hunger for money the scientist throws all caution to the wind as he and his research team race to test the ancient mold with devastating consequences. One of Cook's better works

Summary: It was an enthralling book, I couldn't put it down.
Review: This is one of the best books I've ever read. It was very informative as well as exciting...I was on edge the whole time. I recomend it to anyone

Summary: A typical Cookbook
Review: Well, Cook is at it again. Very good potential for a plot but focuses more on the beautiful, rich nurse and intelligent doctor's romance. Not a very realistic ending, but Cook did include a moralistic plea regarding personality-altering drugs to make up for the lack of medical realism.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Intriguing pharmacy-gone-bad plot despite belabored synonyms
Review: This book intertwines horrific hysteria in the name of God from the 17th century, with today's high-tech medicine in the name of greed. The plot is original and believable.Note, Cook overuses phrases; the principals are predictable and interchangable from other Cook books. And, there is an incredible mistake on page 109 of the paperback edition--but I can forgive all of this from Cook."Acceptable Risk" is a FAST-read. Cook has a talent for placing the reader in his descriptive enviroments. One does become immerssed in his twisting universe. This reviewer learned a great deal about The Salem Witch trials, as well as Neuroscience and our changing medical culture. Recommended

Summary: Appealing
Review: Kimberly Stewart investigates an ancestor linked with the Salem witch trials. Meanwhile, medical researcher Edward Armstrong thinks he's on the way to making a new anti-depressant. But the self-tests of the drug cause Edward and his team to have a frightening conflict with Kim. It took me a while to get into it, but it picked up. I reckon that the fact that I take anti-depressants (Zoloft) also made this story appealing. (A)
