Rating: Summary: Fast and exciting read Review: I picked up All Fall Down and couldn't put it down. Even though I figured out who the murderer was early on, I was shocked by the twist in the ending. The characters are likable and the storyline fast paced and exciting. I am now on the lookout for all of Erica Spindler's books.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Ending Review: I was skeptical of this book when I started reading it. It seemed like the author was giving away too much of the plot at during the first half and letting you know the ending. Wrong! Erica Spindler does a knockout job in this suspense novel. I thought I had it all figure out and was I ever wrong. I won't go into the plot since everyone else has done that. Just take it from me, nothing is what it seems. If you are looking for a good read, this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Justice? Murder? Or Both? Review: Imagination is an an amazing thing. As an author, I'm at the mercy of mine. As a suspense author, I find that imagination can--and does--turn to the dark, the frightening, the macabre. I'm fascinated by the inner workings of devious minds, by the moral dilemmas that face us today and by the notion of good people facing seemingly unbeatable odds. I catch myself rewriting moments of both current history and everyday life, asking myself What If? and letting my mind take a turn toward the terrifying. This is the process I used in creating ALL FALL DOWN, my fourth thriller from MIRA Books. ALL FALL DOWN is the story of Melanie May, a small-town cop who longs to do big-time police work. Melanie is fresh from a divorce, raising her young son on her own and battling her controlling ex's attempt to wrench custody away from her. Melanie is a survivor of childhood abuse; her son and twin sisters are her whole world. She would do anything to keep them safe from harm. Melanie's dream of a big investigation comes true when she uncovers the work of a particularly clever serial killer. A "Dark Angel" who leaves his victim's survivors better off than before--no one is sorry to see the victims dead. And in the end, a killer who forces Melanie to question her own convictions about right and wrong and about the meaning of justice in this country. For help, Melanie turns to Connor Parks, one of the FBI's top profilers. Tormented by the unsolved murder of his sister--and by the unwitting part he played in her death--Connor is obsessed with finding her killer. That obsession threatens to destroy him. At first, Melanie is thrilled by her involvement in the investigation. The case is high-profile and exciting; she's lauded for having discovered the Dark Angel. Before long, however, Melanie realizes that her participation in the case has put those she loves most at risk and now jeopardizes all she holds dear. For as she and Connor close in on the killer, Melanie comes face-to-face with a terrible truth--the profile Connor created fits someone in her own life. I hope I've piqued your interest in reading ALL FALL DOWN. If you'd like to know more about ALL FALL DOWN or my other novels, please visit me at my site on the World Wide Web. Best Wishes,
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down! The character development and plot twists were fabulous. I, too, had most of it figured out as another reader did, but the conclusion still caught me off guard. Arresting Melanie as the suspect in her own investigation? Great! I am looking forward to reading more of her books.
Rating: Summary: This author has cross-genre appeal Review: The murder of socialite Joli Anderson shakes up Charlotte, as the victim is the daughter of one of the most prominent businessmen in the area. However, the impact is felt even stronger in the suburb of Whistlestop where the corpse was found. The Charlotte Police Department takes charge of the case with the FBI providing assistance. The small Whistlestop Police Department is relegated to a clerical support role that galls Officer Melanie May, but there is nothing she can do about her assignment on the Anderson case. FBI profiler Connor Parks is removed from the case and placed on leave because his obsession interferes with his official work. Connor feels extreme guilt caused by his ignoring his sister's cry of wolf once too many times. Unfortunately, his ignoring her cry for help leads to her death. However, Connor's profile of the killer begins to remind Melanie of an individual she knows. As she struggles with her "hunch," Melanie must deal with her influential ex-husband who has filed for custody of their four-year old son, and her growing attraction to the enigmatic Connor. ALL FALL DOWN is a powerful romantic police procedural that will provide immense pleasure to fans of both genres. The exciting story line focuses on the interrelationships of law enforcement departments while working a particularly nasty case with high media visibility. Melanie is a wonderful character whose own obsession of being a heroine causes her anguish. Connor is sort of a fallen angel trying to regain his self worth, but losing the battle within his own soul. The secondary characters bring out the traits of the lead couple even as their subplots tie back to the main tale. Erica Spindler deserves cross genre acclaim. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Contrived and stereotypical Review: The plot has too many coincidences. Who would believe that Conner's sister and Melanie's sister could be connected to the same psycho? Veronica's character is poorly developed -- either too good or too bad. Mia and Ashley are both mentally ill, but Melanie is perfectly sane. The ending was not a twist, but a poorly developed plot. I was angry with the ending, disbelieving that anyone would expect me to buy such drivel. This was my first Erica Spindler novel; it is probably my last.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: This author really knows how to write a suspense novel! I have read all her books (except Chances Are because it's out of print), and they are all fantastic. This one was no exception. You feel as if you actually know these characters. It's a fast-paced story with a lot of plot twists. You will not be disappointed with this one. I can't wait for the next book from Erica Spindler.
Rating: Summary: Surprise! Review: This books was excellent, the story was so great and it really makes you think. I thought for sure I knew exactly was what going to happen, but I was really surprised. A real must read!!!
Rating: Summary: ERICA SPINDLER DOES IT AGAIN Review: This is a book you just can not put down. Different stories that all tie in together. I thought I might know who the killer was then I wasn't sure then i was sure then I wasn't sure again. I kept going back and forth. The ending had an excellent twist. I can't wait to read another book by Erica Spindler.
Rating: Summary: All Fall Down Review: This is a very entertaining book to read. You won't know what will happen until the very end. It kept me awake all night to finish the book. What I really like about this book is that the relationship between characters and their struggle with life are very well written. And the suspense of the book is seemlessly fit into every characters in the book. It's fantastic.
