Summary: A disturbing picture of one woman's stand against evil.
Review: "Watch Me" caught and held me from the first few pages. It is often disturbing, provocative, and memorable in its description of one woman's response to the the evil she encounters as a law enforcement officer and to her frustrations with a legal system that over and over seems to tie the hands of those trying to uphold the law. Holt does a masterful job of describing the deterioration of the central character's life, career, and sense of self. From the first moment she steps beyond the line to the tender, surprise ending, you will be caught up in her journey

Summary: If you like this...
Review: ... try books by Christopher Hyde ("A Gathering of Saints", etc). Holt and Hyde are one and the same. :)

Summary: Watch Me nothing! Watch Out!! This book is a Winner!!!
Review: A.J. Holt takes "The Silence of the Lambs" a fireball further in Watch Me. In today's high tech Internet world you can bet that this fiction isn't fiction...and that you just never know who you are chatting with on the Web. Watch Out! P.S. "Attagal" Special Agent Jay Fletcher. Justice served. Hope to read more of your contributions to society soon!

Summary: Suspenseful, but not very believable.
Review: As a person heavily involved with the Internet and computers in general, I found that the plot of Watch Me was promising; howeverthe manner in which the Internet was depicted and used by the "heroine" was unrealistic, which for me put a damper on the story. While beinig very creative, the descriptions of the crimes committed by the serial killers were given with perhaps a bit too much gory detail for my own taste. I do think that the book makes a strong and valid statement regarding the shortcomings of our Country's justice system, and the methods by which criminals get "off the hook", or lesser sentences due to loopholes in our laws. I was quite unsatisfied with the ending, however it did leave the door open for a sequel to the story

Summary: An Ok read but I've read better
Review: First off I read a lot of books, in all genres, I would say 50 - 100 per year. And while I enjoyed this book, there was just something about it that I couldn't connect with on some level.

First off it felt like two distinct stories that didn't really come together till you were 2/3s of the way through it. This for me was very disconcerting. On the one hand you had Jay and her hunting spree, and then you had Hawkins and his search for the Iceman. By the time this all meshed together, Hawkins was out of it and it really started to flow.

2nd, Cruz's character was wasted for most of the book. He didn't really do much to advance the plot, just kind of sat back and watched events unfold.

3rd with all the obvious reseach the author did, there were a couple of errors I had trouble understanding. One how could he/she get the information on Star Trek: The Motion Picture so wrong. Especially when the character was watching the movie? Granted I've seen the movie and this may come across as a bit Trekkie like, but It was so glaring it hurt.

I will say that I was surprised at the ending.

I'll wait and see what else A.J. Holt comes up with.

Summary: Ethical dilemma fuels hacker thriller
Review: Holt's debut thriller features FBI agent and computer hacker Janet (Jay) Fletcher, whose zeal doesn't always follow proper legal channels. When her illegally obtained evidence blows a murder case, she is assigned to an arson detail in Santa Fe. But she can't help running her computer tracking system to find a local serial killer.

Find him she does but her methods are not court admissable. Agonizing over what to do, she finds herself face-to-face with the killer - and evidence of an on-line network of people like himself - serial killers who've made a game out of ritualistic murder.

Holt knows computers, and uses this fantastic scenario to dazzle rather than confuse the reader. The action never flags but even more interesting is the ethical nail-biting. With expert manipulation, Holt fires the reader emotionally with gruesome murder scenes then asks "What's more important - stopping a serial killer or obeying the law?" And to really make it disturbing, Fletcher begins to get a thrill out of her rogue vigilantism. Exciting from first page to last.

Summary: Excellent! Exciting and Intriguing premise!
Review: I can't say how much I enjoyed this book in the small amount of space I have here! I found this book to be exciting and thought provoking. Much more intriguing than "Hannibal," which I just finished and am sad to say found a bit disappointing. If you're a fan of investigative high tech suspense, ignore the two or three negative(unenlightened)reviews and read this book, you really should enjoy it!

Summary: Good for a First Novel
Review: I enjoyed the beginning of the book and it caught my attention. But most of the characters were in the background and in my opinion, the author should have developed them more. Despite this..the basic idea behind the novel is intriguing. I hope the sequel will prove to be even better.

Summary: Want to learn how Public Safety agencies are limited
Review: I found of greatest importance the underlying story of how poorly Public Safety agencies are linked and share important info. Also, I found it sad to see the hunter become like the hunted - did she too fit the profile?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very captivating
Review: I found that right and wrong can be obscure and very justifiable either way. I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend it.
