even those not trapped in the dregs of journalism. And it might help explain the business to outsiders who find themselves scratching their heads at the hair-brained things they see in
their daily newspapers and on TV.

Summary: A great book even if you've never lived in Humboldt County
Review: I went to school at Humboldt State University and Ms White's book really portrays the Arcata lifestyle I experienced when I lived there. It was funny yet had a hint of mystery and the characters were a lot of fun. This is a great read and I highly recommend it. Thanks Kim

Review: This novel perfectly captures the Arcata vibe. If you know what I'm talking about -- if you've ever been to Humboldt County -- you pretty much have to read this book. Either way, you'll love "Humboldt" for its great characters, head-shaking plot and dry humor. At least, that's what I love about it. Few people are truly funny in writing; White definitely has a gift.
