Summary: Could Not Pick It Up!
Review: In my opinion, this book was so awful that I could not bear to finish reading - had to put it down halfway. It is not gripping in the least, and I never looked forward to "curling up" with this book at night. The first few chapters were okay (eg, background, historical, and geographical stuff), but it's all downhill from there!

Summary: I confess -- I hated it.
Review: Implausible plot. Unbelievable characters doing astonishing things. A bad guy who would make Judas Iscariot look like a choirboy and Superman look like a 72 lb weakling. An ending that is predictable and boring and thoroughly unlikely.

Even Harlequin Romance novels provide better reading. Even "The Dukes of Hazard" provide better plot lines. Even "The A-Team" provide better entertainment.

This is a novel that should have been a comic-book.

Read this book. Get absorbed by the plot. Believe that The Pope is guarded by the Keystone Cops. Believe in a bad guy who is *so bad* he'll rot your teeth. Believe that a millionaire American lawyer, a unchaste nun and an ex-military Priest can save the world...

...or believe in Space Aliens instead. They're much more plausible and more entertaining.

What a waste of money. What a joke.

Summary: Fantastic, could really happen, can't put down the book
Review: When I first pick up this book, I said,"Oh no, religious and out of this world, cause it has something to do with China. Why is it everybody's picking on China ? Because it's big country. I guess." Then, I started reading. Quiet slow in the beginning, but after 50 pages or so, it just picks up and I couldn't put it down. I find myself wanting to go home and finish the book. The plot thickens, and so believable. I mean, I can see it in human nature, how the mind works and the interacting of different individuals with their different interests at stake. A very good and exciting book. Although it's fictional, but put it with different setting, it's possible. The higher the power, if it's in a bad hand, it can be catastrophic. Lucky, there's God, and father Daniel has 9 lives.

Summary: Rides on the heels of Day Afetr Tomorrow
Review: I LOVED "Day After Tomorrow".This book (Day of Confession) is a let down, although a fun, quick read.I didn't have nearly the depth of the previous book.It felt as though the writer,Mr. Folsom, used many of the same mechanisms used in the first book. While these are efective, too many correlations to situations and character could be tied to the previous book.Overall,it was descent, but not great.I liked the previous book, much more.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I was really disappointed by "Day of Confession." I had loved "the Day After Tomorrow," and when an uncle recommended Folsom's latest, I ran out and bought it as the first read for a trip to Hawaii.

Boy was I disappointed. Although the basic premise of the story is rather preposterous (the Vatican as architect of global genocide-c'mon people, the Middle Ages are over!), I still found it to be intriguing-Folsom essentially substitutes the Vatican's walls for the Kremlin's, as an impenetrable home for secret dealings. Many of the characters are interesting, and the action in the first half really moves you along. Unfortunately, the ending, and events leading up to it, are completely ridiculous.

The love tryst, the raid on the Vatican, the brothers chanting guttural Marine Corps slogans before "doing-in" the bad guy (who slaughtered just about everyone who crossed his path)--all preposterous.

All in all, I'm sorry I wasted my moeny on this book. Come to think of it, I didn't like the last book my uncle recommended either (Road to Omaha).

There's plenty of better thrillers out there than this. Let's hope that Folsom gets back on track with his next novel.

Summary: An Amazing Surprise
Review: Generally, an author's second novel cannot match with the first. However, this novel was exceptional just like The Day After Tomorrow. The Day After Tomorrow is the best novel I have ever read. Likewise, Day of Confession is right behind it. Just as the novel seems to be over and decoded, Folsom adds in a whole new revelation brilliantly and flawlessly. This novel was a true, pure pleasure to read. Props to Folsom, again.

Summary: let the buyer beware
Review: His other book, The Day After Tomorrow, was really enjoyable, and I was looking forward to reading this one. Unfortunately, it just didn't meet any of my expectations. The only good things I can say about it was that it was an easy read, I didn't have to think while I was reading it, and I didn't waste a lot of time on it. The characters were ridiculous, and I didn't care whether or not a character died. The plot was silly, and I found myself laughing out loud at some of the so-called "twists" and "developments." This book is not up to the genre standard.

Summary: No "Ubermorgen" but a great read
Review: The most interesting part of this book were the characters. The plot is also very creative, although it seemed like Folsom was trying to pull another surprise ending but just couldn't seem to pull off the same shock as "The Day After Tomorrow." Also the OORAHS, were a little much (you'll have to read it to understand).

Summary: Too slow & disappointing
Review: Having read Folsom's first novel, The Day After Tomorrow, I anxiously awaited his next. It starts out great & moves a bit for the first 4 or 5 chapters, then it slows down & much detailed boredom settles in. I even put the book down for a few days & picked it up again, even going back a chapter or 2 but still it lost my interest.

Summary: DO NOT MISS IT!
Review: I read "The Day After Tomorrow", and it was the best book I've ever read. I wish I could say the same about "Day Of Confession", but it was still a grate book.

The problem with all of us, - Allen Folsom fans - was that we expected "Day After Tomorrow 2", and that wasn't and isn't possible. Still, this is one grate book you don't want to miss.

Dear Mr. Folsom: DO NOT, EVER, STOP WRITING!
