Rating: Summary: Can't Put Down - Must Read Yarn! Review: I haven't enjoyed reading a tale like this in a long time. Fast moving and interesting, written with an air of plausibility, I didn't have to suspend disbelief to enter the world created by the authors and enjoy the experience. One of the few novels of this genre that I'd read again!
Rating: Summary: A Very Good Techno Thriller Review: I just finished reading Icefire and I couldn't put it down. There was suspense after suspense from the start. I really enjoyed how the action jumped off at the beginning though at the pole. Webber, Bailey, and Cory were excellent heros and very believable too. I really thought the concept of having a Navy SEAL who could also pilot multiple airplanes was a very new and awesome concept (and probably not far from the truth). The technologies used in the book were awesome as well, I partiulary enjoyed the Nevada Rain aircraft. I only wish that at the end of the book there would have been some type of follow up as to how Webber, Cory, and Bailey ended up. The book was technically acurate but there were a lot of acronyms and abbreviations in the book, a glossary of acronyms and abbreviations in the back of the book would have really helped because I found myself turning back to the beginning a lot just to remember what one of the abbreviations meant. But fortunately I spent 7 years on active duty in the United States Army so I could relate to the abbreviation use with little problem. I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes techno thrillers. This is definitely up there with the Hunt For Red October and Without Remorse (both written by Tom Clancy).

Rating: Summary: Excellent....entertaining Review: I picked up this book on a whim. I have always lived by the coast and have a phobia about tsunami's. Couldn't put it down. Enjoyed every moment.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down Review: I stayed up all night reading this one! Fast moving, excellent plot, believable characters. Just wish there were more books available from this team to read at the beach besides StarTrek stuff.
Rating: Summary: Riviting! Supurb near future adventure! Review: I thouroughly enjoyed this exciting novel. If you like your drama mixed in with a little science fiction this is for you!
Rating: Summary: Fizzled at the end Review: I won't ruin anything for anyone reading this review, but the final third of this book were really a disappointment (with some exceptions). I agree with the other good reviews here in that the book is gripping and you can't put it down. I absolutely loved the first 2/3 of the book. Unfortunately, I lost all that excitement as the book started to wind up. The #1 problem was my 'suspension of disbelief' began to fail. This was mostly due to one sequence where a classified-level aircraft is stolen. Finally, there were too many predictable tear-jerk moments towards the end. As soon as you read a paragraph about a new character that is being introduced near the end and her 'excitement about her engagement to Ben in Boston' you know that she's about to buy the farm. Two pages later, you're right. Overall, I'd call this the Stephen King syndrome- The book starts out great, has super characters that you like pretty well, you can't put it down wanting to find out what happens, then what happens starts to wander outside of the credible. I'm intrigued enough to try another by the Reeves-Stevens', but I wish this one had been edited down to lose the predictable moments. Overall, the idea for the book and execution is outstanding but a few sequences in the final third really bring down the whole.
Rating: Summary: This one made my top ten. Review: I've been reading twenty to twenty-five novels per year for the last six years. This one makes my top ten. It is a page turner if there ever was one. I definitely think this "techno-thriller" is a cut above Clancy because it is faster paced and the description is dispersed in digestible doses. Despite the plethora of acronyms, I had no trouble keeping track of where we were and who was doing what. I felt the characters were well rounded I especially liked General Abbott. I know people like him. Mitch Webber makes a great protagonist. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Don't Start....Unless You Have the Time Review: It's great to read scifi that includes science, not just fantasy. I enjoyed reading the technical info and felt that I learned whilst being entertained. Only recommendation...be careful when you start this book that you don't have any deadlines coming up, it's very hard to put down.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME TECHNO-THRILLER! Review: J&G have done it again. Best "can't-put-it-down" suspense I've read in a while! The idea is frighteningly real and made it the great book it was. Very convincing and very suspenseful. Can't wait for a movie!
