Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Great book. If you like this I would also reccomend "Hammer of Eden" by Ken Follett. Great story and very believable characters. Well done.
Rating: Summary: Fast Paced Read Review: Great reading and seemingly well researched if you can get beyond the fact that the author's grasp of military ranking is off. Full Navy Commander's do not work for Air Force Major's; they outrank them! (nor does the rank of Commander exist in the Air Force as is mentioned in one passage).
Rating: Summary: It made me a convert Review: I always thought my dad was crazy for reading all those Tom Clancy novels. Icefire turned my whole perception of techno thrillers around. As a reader who is just as interested in characters as plot lines, I found this book engaging from the get go. I also read to learn, and quite enjoyed delving into military jargon, solitons vs. tsunami, and my great love of the SR-71 Blackbird was quite satisfied with that amazing aircraft's role in the action. The Nevada Rain, of course, was just plain cool. The authors are also not afraid to kill people which I find painful and realistic. Death is the second inevitablity after taxes and it is a refreshing change from gold-plated characters who sometimes, maybe, get a hangnail or the poor "red-shirts" (the nameless guys in Star Trek who always bought it and were eulogized by a mournful Bones in some variation of 'He's dead, Jim.') The reader is energized and drawn into the drama because of this no nonsense, stark addition of death, no longer just irritated with those baddies but just aching to get the part where they get a taste of their own medicine. I have not heard about a film, but can't wait to see it should it become a reality. A great read, even if you don't much care for the genre because it incorporates so much more. It is so satisfying when you have a History Channel husband who starts with amazement at hearing CincPac roll glibly off your tongue.

Rating: Summary: Great, fast pace techno thriller Review: I find this book much easier to digest than Tom Clancy's. You can tell that the authors had movie scripts in mind all the way, which I wish it will be soon. This is the book to get if you ar into techno thriller.
Rating: Summary: One of the best I have ever read Review: I first saw this book at a stall in Midway airport and decided to not buy it because it seemed implausible that a wave could command a book of 600 pages. So I waited and then decided to give it a go several weeks later.Wow, am I glad I decided to read this book. It is, without a doubt, one of the best books I have ever read. Every word, every sentence, and every paragraph has been put together as if the authors were there in a real time disaster. This book is wonderful. My wife started the book after I told her about it, and she finished in a day: all 600 pages. The detail and descriptions are graphic, detailed, and beautifully conceived.
Rating: Summary: What a RUSH!! Review: I gotta hand it to Judith & Garfield...having read several of their Star Trek novels (far and away the best out there, too) I was taken by surprise when I noticed a techno-thriller with their name on it. I checked the wallet, found enough and got me a copy and took it home...fast forward a few days...!!!WOW!!! This book can rival just about any techno-thriller out there! If I were to have ANY criticism at all, it would be that at times the explanation of the tidal force unleashed at the bottom of the world was a bit over my head. Now I'm by no means a genius, but it certainly SOUNDED plausible. Fun and very fast paced, this locomotion in print is a MUST READ for any who enjoys a good action/adventure novel. By the way, the comparisons to Clancy and Cussler are TOTALLY deserved.
Rating: Summary: impressive as a technological thriller but weak on suspense Review: I had high expectations for this novel given therave reviews. However, there just was not enough fast paced action to keep me intersted. THere were lots of action scenes but I found them rather contrived and unrelated and did not push the overall storyline forward. Instead of wasting your money on this, try starting George R. R. Martin's Game of Thrones and Clash of Kings: they kick ass. I shall now go out and buy War and Peace. Wwwwaauugghh!!!!
Rating: Summary: WOW!! What a great book! Review: I had not heard of Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens and bought the book to read on my commuter train. I was blown away and could't put it down. The plot was very believeable and they were able to hold my interest. If you like Clancy, you'll love his book. The technology was cutting edge and sheds some light on where weapons technology is headed. I am ordering their new hardback today.
Rating: Summary: Great Action and Disaster story in one! Review: I had read a few of the comments left by other AMAZON.COM readers recommending this book so I thought I'd give it a try. I must admit that it seemed a little slow at first, but quickly picked up after the wave started. I was a little disappoiinted Australia wasn't covered (sorry for the pun) a little more since virtually the entire southeastern coast would have been wiped out, but the coverage of Hawaii was GREAT! The characters were well-defined, even though I would have b*tch-slapped the main female character after about the 3rd smart *ss remark she made. Didn't quite believe they were ever in love. Read the book pretty quickly and would recommend it.
