Rating: Summary: Great Sequel to B-Zone Review: Al Voth's second book is a huge improvement over his first effort. The characters, including the hero, Nathan Burdett, are more developed, and the story line is more believable. There are several plot twists that keep the novel interesting, and compelling. The book is very hard to put down. As a side note, all technical details relating to firearms and hunting are technically correct. There is nothing that stops the flow of a story more than reading Hollywood style lies about firearms or inaccurate technical data related to firearms. This book contains nothing to stop the action. Five Stars.

Rating: Summary: Truely a shooters book Review: I loved the book. As a competitive shooter, I found the book technically accurate as well as entertaining. I couldn't put it down. I ordered the the first book, "The B-Zone," at the same time and read one after the other. I can't wait for the third book. You can tell Voth learned a lot about writing between the first and the second book. The quality of his text just keeps getting better

Rating: Summary: Now, we;re getting somewhere!! Review: Mr. Voth's first book, B-Zone, was burdened with a simplistic characters, predictable plot, and the relative inexperience of the writer. In spite of all that, it was an interesting and fun read. Now comes the sequel, and it treats the first book as a mere introductory chapter to the REAL story! Mr. Voth has obviously taken criticisms of the first book to heart as character development, writing style, and the plot are all much improved. The plot twists, while sometimes foreseeable, contain just enough unpredictability to keep you wondering. Technical detail is superb, a feature usually sadly lacking in books of this genre. The characters start to come alive as we see more details into their motivation, flaws, and humanity. Sub-plots make their appearance, and start to intricately weave through and divert the main plot line. I look forward to the third book of this series. Hopefully, it will be better still!

Rating: Summary: A great read and a hero for today Review: This is the much anticipated sequel to B-Zone. I have a fear of sequels because they never seem to live up to the original. Al Voth has proven me wrong by taking his writing and his story to a new level. If you're looking for a hero, Nathan Burdett is him. If you're looking for a great book, Mandatory Reload is one. I'm a slow reader, I never rush through a book, I savor them. In Mandatory Reload, every page was delicious. I tried to set the book down at midnight and get some sleep. That was a mistake I don't intend to repeat with an Al Voth book. I lost a night's sleep and then had to finish the book the next day. -- ShootersBookshelf.com
