Rating: Summary: Quick Fix....Not So Fast Review: MIRACLE CURE is what all people would love to be able to have...a quick fit-it drug. Early on the reader becomes very interested in what the outcome will be for Brian. Plots and twists keep the reader interested. Until the show-down. For some reason that part is just a fizzle. (I reread that part, thinking I'd missed something) Palmer could have spent a bit more time on that area instead of speeding through and leaving the reader thinking 'this is it'. He built up the plot and simply dropped it. Almost like a child does on a book report. A child puts all the great stuff in the body and then the ending--is said and over with. Like I'm tired and ready to finish. Don't get me wrong, Michael Palmer is a great writer and I have enjoyed each of his books, which IMHO are much better. The book is worth your time. So go ahead get a copy and read what most of the American people would love to have....a way to fix everything from being over weight to eating at McDonald's too often and wondering why your cholestrol is too high..... with a pill.
Rating: Summary: A good, fast read -- definitely a page-turner. Review: Miracle Cure was a nice way to spend an afternoon, definitely a page-turner, in the quest to find out what's going to happen. The biggest fault I saw was believability: that the situation got as far as it did without anyone noticing anything was wrong with the drug or the test cases; that the hero just happened to be a cardiologist and just happened to get a job in time to get involved in the release of the medication. It was at best contrived. The end had a twist that I didn't suspect, but not enough redeem the faults in the plot. Generally good prose and dialogue; characters are developed minimally and are stereotypical.
Rating: Summary: Excellant Review: my opinion may be a bit biased seeing as how im a 17 year old male and... want all action. but i just thought that all of the technical medicine talk made this book a bit hard to follow, it was needed to set up the ending which does happen to be very good. so it was a good book by a good author, but i think i could have done better with the same general story, but less medical talk.

Rating: Summary: Holds Your Interest But Very Predictable Review: Par for the course with a Michael Plamer book, Miracle Cure will keep you reading. However, what is also becoming all too true is that Miracle Cure is another in the line of books written based on the "Palmer formula". If this is your first book by Palmer, you'll probably enjoy it a lot. But, having read all of Palmer's books, which have now become all to similar in terms of plot development and solution, I was pretty much able to guess the ending of Miracle Cure well in advance of getting there. While I enjoyed reading Miracle Cure, it is too predictable if you are an expereinced reader of Palmer's books.
Rating: Summary: Good reading, predictable Review: Sandy Jensen's comment is precise: this is a well-written, readable, interesting, engaging, but predictable book. It's one of those thrillers that is fun to read but quite forgettable once read. Despite the proof-readings a Palmer book should go through, these bloopers slipped through (paperback version): a passed football is "still rising" 40 yards downfield, but lands 60 yards downfield (p. 288); Palmer has a Colombian woman say "pardon YOU" in Spanish (Perdone _usted_, senor) instead of the intended "Pardon me" (perdoname) (p. 422).
Rating: Summary: Good Read...until the plot was revealed. Review: The book had me continuously turning pages until the underlying plot was revealed. Without giving away the secret of the drug in MIRACLE CURE, I must say that I was greatly disappointed at the highly non-technical and, I think, implausible "solution" to the mystery. Coming from a technical background, I had trouble suspending my disbelief when the main character finally discovers what was going on. I still gave it three stars (better than average) but couldn't recommend it to my wife who works in medicine.
Rating: Summary: Immediately grabbed me: I couldn't put it down! Review: The book is very well written, and compells one to keep reading. The ending is so GOOD (with a twist)!
Rating: Summary: "Miracle Cure?" Get a second opinion. Review: This book is like one of those amusement park rides where you are slowly elevated to the top and suddenly dropped hundreds of feet. And then it's over. The book HAS a good story. Too bad Palmer reveals it toward the end. If you've already bought it, stick it out, the ending is worth reading. If you haven't bought it, don't.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This book was definitley not one to start at 10:00 at night. This intense page turner captivated my attention and had me racing to turn the pages. There were a few parts in the book where it was a bit slow but for the most part it was fast paced reading. The medical terms and setting kept it real and interesting. Its twists were unpredictable and exciting. Overall this book was excellent and makes me want to go out and purchase another one of his books.
