Summary: Fed Up and Not Taking It Anymore?
Review: Lord Vishnu's Love "handles" many of the things that 21st century Americans live with but fear and despise: cults, terrorists, government flunkies, wacko religious nuts, the IRS. Will Clarke writes with a stand-up comic's sense of timing and gives us a chance to smirk at these and other cultural oddities. His characters are conniving, ruthlessly honest and endearing, all at the same time. There aren't many writers beyond Dave Barry and Stephen King who can make me laugh out loud, but Will Clarke is one of them. If you're looking for X Files meets Picket Fences, buy Lord Vishnu's Love Handles.

Review: No other book will challenge your senses as much as Lord Vishnu - "what was he thinking?" and "where can he possibly be going from here?" Truly a roller coaster ride of thought-provoking narrative. Perhaps our next Vonnegut?

Summary: What a gas!
Review: Okay, it's not your basic spy novel, or fantasy novel, or...novel, period. But what a bizarre and hilarious ride it is!From page one I was hooked and couldn't let go. Lord Vishnu's Love Handles is a story about a man holding on to the last threads of his sanity as he realizes, more and more, that he has visions and learns of things he should not (and could not) know. The narrative is strong and keeps the pace rolling nicely. I actually found myself wanting more when the story was over (@220 pages is like eating tapas--I'm never full). As a reader who normally does not enjoy "fantasy-like" or impossible elements to stories, I was easily pulled in to the plot line of this story (in the same way you may be pulled in to the impossibility of Chuck Palahniuk's Lullaby). Fans of Chucky P. or Dave Eggers will dig this. The writing is edgy, quirky and a blast! Too bad I couldn't find it in hardback - this one is a keeper.

Summary: Twists, turns, humor, and a bit off-the-wall!
Review: Such an intriguing book. Characterizations and descriptions kept me reading. The author's personality has to be intricately woven through Travis Anderson's "psychic" abilties and the adventures that become his life as a result of his second sight.
It's a fast moving story, and if you blink, you'll miss something. DON'T BLINK!!!

Summary: Choke and Love Handles
Review: The odd title of this book prevented me from buying it for several months. I thought it might take place in India or be new age or something but it takes place mostly in a Texas suburb with pretty much nothing to do with India or anything new age. It turns out that it is a very funny and unique book -- the title is random which fits the style of this book in some ways. This is the story of a regular guy who lives with his wife, Range Rover, border Collie and kid in a wealthy suburb. He works at his own internet startup with his partner and old buddy. They meet with a lot of financial success and have some funny experiences. The writing style is sort if like a direct conversation with the reader and is a great style unlike any author I'm familiar with. The main character essentially has some weird ESP abilities that end up causing a great deal if hilarity and adventure and some very funny antics and very funny suburb humor. This book was 100% refreshing and 0% pretentious in that the author has invented his own style and is the complete opposite of stuffy...very funny, very original and very unique.

Summary: Needed more revision
Review: The prose had problems. Example from page 200 of paperback version: "Please!" I beg.
When you say please, the begging is sort of understood. Some characters had tiger-like grins or bank teller smiles--not as cliche' as wolf-like grin but its in the same ball park.
I do hand it to the author, he has a great premise, thus the 2 stars. But I think the novel needed a little more polish. The problems were very distracting to me, and I could not get any momentum from this book.

Review: This book has quite an opening line and first chapter. The termoil the main character has found in his world seems to disable him until he finds out what are at the roots of his delimma. The story then twists in such an extroidinary direction that you are hooked. It was a fun read ... especially since I live in the neighborhood of the main character and work in the same office building...Is that a coincidence? In this case, yes.

Review: This book is a "can't put down". Amazing twists and turns, and always keeps you reading (and thinking). This is a "must have" book, as you will want to read it again, and again. Will Clarke is hilarious and riveting. I am sure you will see this on a best sellers list soon. A masterpiece novel!

Review: This book is a lot of fun and definitely not your typical spy novel. It has lots of twists and turns and Clarke obviously has an over-active imagination. But then again, could our government be involved in remote viewing?---
