Rating: Summary: Lord what a great book! Review: As soon as I finished this book I began reading it again. Hilarious, knowing. If Cervantes and Vonnegut could have a love child, it would be Will Clarke. This cynical look at a society spying on itself gets you laughing, but it also gets you thinking. If you don't get this book and read it, you're cheating yourself!
Rating: Summary: awesome Review: awesome!! a little bit wierd, but awesome all the same.
Rating: Summary: a book for people aflicted with afluenza Review: Do you love a crazy premise? Can you really get into wacky fiction like Kurt Vonnegut's Sirens of Titan? Psychic CIA agents tracking killers and each other are quite a stretch. It makes it seem as if the book should belong in the Sci-Fi section of the library, but as with Vonnegut's work, it manages to be well written enough to see the mainstream light of day.
I love books that show their main characters coming to grips with their need for material goods. The main characters' reaction to aspersions cast on his lifestyle reminds me of many peoples reaction to criticism about their constant reach for more and more stuff. As in "Fight Club", the main character is forced to see what his life would be like with what is really important, his family, taken away, thus realizing what is truly important.
Rating: Summary: awesome Review: I bought this book while surfing amazon one day, and found it hard to believe that every one of its ratings was 5 stars. Then I read it in just a matter of days and here I am giving it one more 5 star rating. An incredible book that's addicting and hard to put down. Great twists and turns. At some points I thought to myself "That was weird... Where can he be going from here?" but found myself amazed when it all lead up to another surprise or wonderful plot point. A book filled with great quotes and one liners, hilarious and moving, upsetting and full of action. Travis Anderson, the main character... I don't know if I hate him or love him, but his story is a great one. If you like Palahniuk... Actually, it doesn't matter what you like. I don't know a person that wouldn't be intriuged by this book, and I'm already halfway done with telling everybody I know about it.

Rating: Summary: Very Entertaining Review: I got an early version of this book from FirstBooks---- it was reviewed in an advertising trade (AdAge, I think) about a month ago. This book is great fun and has some radical twists and turns. Clarke has a superb imagination---I can't wait for his next one.

Rating: Summary: Choke and Love Handles Review: I purchased all the books by Chuck Palahunk(I know that spelling is incorrect) for my son because he really liked the bizarre writing style of "Fight Club". Someone recommended this book in the recommendation section of "Choke" (if you like "Choke" you will like.......)and my son said it was true that this author was really good as well! He liked the story as well as the writing style!
Rating: Summary: Really interesting, and doesn't go where you think it will! Review: I randomly found this book and ordered it, not knowing anything about it and I was really suprised by how much I liked it. I don't even know what category to place it in, it would be definitely be very funny, but it also has a small sci-fi/other worldy twist, while at the same time being a very normal story of a man and his life.It is the story of an every day guy who very vivid visions. He is married with a wife and young son and has to try to keep things normal while he's constantly seeing and knowing things he shouldn't know. And that's only the first few chapters. I don't want to say anymore and risk ruining things, but suffice it to say, it gets really really good. Every character completely breaks out of whatever mold you placed them in and as you read the book, you are constantly amazed by where the book goes. But what's great is no matter how weird things get, the main character thinks completely rationally, so it keeps it easily readable and not "oh please" like when some books get rather weird and no one seems to care. At the time I'm writing this, there is no review with the book so I want to give information, but I also don't want to spoil it. It's not a John Grisham type book, or a mystery or even a suspense novel, it's just an extremely interesting, twist and turning, funny, great book. If you have an imagination and are not into the ordinary & predictable, you should definitely get this book!
Rating: Summary: lovin' the handles Review: I read books at night to help me fall asleep. This one I lost sleep over -- I couldn't put it down.
