Rating: Summary: Grear read!!! I couldn't put it down!!! Review: I have read all of Jackie Collins' books with the exception of the LA Series (which I'm currently reading) and this book was no disappointment. I love her books. This book took me away and made me feel like I really knew the characters. I can't wait for her new book Dangerous Kiss to be released. She has the most awesome characters in her books. Keep up the great work Jackie!!! Peace.
Rating: Summary: bravo for Jackie Review: I just loved the way the book fooled me, I thought I knew how was it ending, but it was a very pleasant surprise.Furthermore, it was well written and with plenty of love scenes! Great.
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly tame and rather boring. Review: I picked this up at the airport for a quick read, but this book was surprisingly bloodless. The characters never stick to my mind, and the plots are hysterically ludicrous. There's not even great bedroom scenes to compensate for my wasted time. Oh well.
Rating: Summary: Another five stars for Jackie Collins! Review: I read Thrill in one night. I could not put this book down. The love story centers around good girl Lara Ivory. She falls in love with a semi-typical bad boy. Each thread in this carefully woven story plays a very important part. Every character is essential to this novel. As always, Jackie Collins has given us a suspenseful, page turning love story for the nineties. If you loved her other novels, you'll love Thrill.
Rating: Summary: Lost myself in it! Review: I really enjoyed this book! I lost myself, I had so much fun reading it. If you feel like just reading a fun book, try this one. Jackie Collins is a wonderful writer.
Rating: Summary: engrossing Review: I think the author did an excellent job with this book. I am a big Jackie Collins fan and I was not disappointed with "Thrill". I found the relationship w/Joey and Lara very touching. Eventually everyone got what they deserved. EXCELLENT READING!!!!!!!!!!

Rating: Summary: Worthwhile trash? Review: I've read two Collins so far. The first one, Hollywood Husbands, didn't impress. This one seemed more interesting. Maybe it's addictive. Already I can see some repetition of themes between the two books, such as the plight of the teenage daughter. But this actually makes sense, this repetition of themes, because it seems to reflect the industry itself: samo samo, very closely prescribed roles and behaviors, from the creative, kooky director (Mick) to the drugged-out actor (Aiden) to the adulterous but successful director (Richard) and so on. Hollywood hasn't changed much over the years and so trite roles seem just right. Collins obviously knows of what she writes, and that's nice for the reader, to know that there is some authenticity behind the author's words. She paces this book real well, revealing a little of the main characters' backgrounds every so often, leaving Joey and Richard until the end almost, so there's always a new surprise around the corner. The culmination of the story leaves something to be desired: a "drop off the cliff," as it were, like Ms. Collins couldn't quite figure how to end everything. She just does it all at once. There are some other implausibilities, like Richard turning his life around (from homocide) to become a famous director, having learned the craft from a Mexican director who made him watch old movies. If you could learn to direct by watching old movies.....well, it just doesn't seem plausible. Anyway, on whole, this book will hold your interest. It's not high brow literature, as another good fella pointed out on this website, but it helps to pass the time and, who knows? Maybe we can even learn a little something. Diximus.
