Rating: Summary: Palmer Has His Finger On the Pulse of Terror Review: I just read, in the New York Times, that doctors can do heart surgery with little tiny robots. My glow about that piece of good news lasted only hours. The next thing I read was The Patient, the newest release by Michael Palmer, about a vicious terrorist, demanding brain surgery which can only be done by, you guessed it, little tiny robots. I was up all night. Jessie Copeland, a woman nuerosurgeon, is a well rounded, likable character and a terrific hero. Claude Malloch and his band are chilling and merciless. Their contest of wills will keep your heart racing from beginning to end. Dr. Palmer knows what's going on in the world. He knows what scares us. And he knows how to deliver a thriller with great characters, great pacing, and a great climax. When's the movie?
Rating: Summary: THE PATIENT BY MICHAEL PALMER Review: A REAL PAGE-TURNER. COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. INTERESTING AND FUN TO READ. GREAT CHARACTERS. THE MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY IS FASCINATING IN THE BEGINNING, AND THEN IT TURNS INTO A FABULOUS STORY THAT TRULY KEEPS YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Book! Review: While I think this book was a little advanced for it's time, I don't think it's too far off. The book itself had a believable plot and strong characters. Although it's not one of his best books, it is a good read.
Rating: Summary: Always a good read Review: I always enjoy Michael Palmer's books. They always provide a lot of information on cutting edge medical procedures. The only problem I had with this book was the abrupt ending.
Rating: Summary: lacking in character Review: The characters lack credibility and substance. Another example of an author substituting technical knowledge in the medical field for good writing.
